Keweenaw snow photos

Good Morning Arlyn. It's been a while. Now I know where all our snow went. Zero snow on the ground and +8F @ 6:22 am here. You do have fantastic snow and great pictures. Look like the tracked unit is working well.

Allow me to add silly details of winter driving while living in a hilly, hilly town. This photo is looking up a street we drive every day. You can't see it, but its quite steep and it has 2 stop signs for traffic descending to keep peoples speed down. The snow on the streets left side, is called "braking snow" because sometime you can't stop while coming down, so you steer into that curb and that snow will check your speed..

I think we cought air in my buddies ford focus down agate one day. I lived on garnet, just as steep but shorter. starting to look like winter up there!

1st photo is a satellite photo taken on Thursday. We may have received 100" since it started 1.5 weeks back. The last photo is our dog who's on a brush roof in our yard.. Sorry that many of these photos are so gray, but its been snowing here.

NOAA says our lake snow machine is shutting down today. I had to do a drive around town this am and took a few photos for you guys. The blue truck is mine parked in the neighbors so I can move our snow. In the 4th photo is our friends house and the fiberglass marker signifies a large rock in there yard. I'll post more a bit later.

Love the snow pictures. I used to get snows like that years ago but the climate change has had an effect on the storms here. I have noticed in the last 47 years here that it snows less and rains more. I miss having 7' or 8' of snow on the ground. We had a good storm a few weeks ago that put down 42" of the white stuff in 24 hours in 32 degree weather and it was fun. I prefer that weather over the frigid temps much of the country is going thru. Stay safe!

Thanks Guys!! Here is a few more. 1st photo didn't make the corner. Opps! 5th photo is definitely a yooper. I drove past a city snow dump which had not been used this year. Yes, its been a low snow year.. Maybe they'll start using it now? For the next 2 days we'll be attending a NFS survival snowmobile training course which will be up in the high country and should have more snow than us. I'll take photos for you.

The sun was finally popping in and out today so we went for a ride along the lake between Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor just to do something beside blow snow.
I took the last pictures from my front porch of the sun setting tonight.
