Keweenaw snow photos

We traveled up the peninsula 20 or so miles today to ski some trails we only get to do once a year at Eagle Harbor. For those not familiar with the Keweenaw peninsula From its southern base to the very tip, its about 80 miles. The bottom photo is view of the lake shore and shove ice.

Here is a payloader used to clear the schools parking lots. It seems all loaders in our area have there tires siped for traction in snow

BC ski photos taken yesterday. We got warm temps and drizzle happening here today, so its really going down. Bottom photo is a old deer hunting blind.

We had rain and warm temps here, so our snow has really, really gone down. Here is one of the cities snow dumps seen today. More was being dumped here as I took these.

My least favorite time of winter, wet sloppy dirty snow. And when you invariably have to crawl under something to fix it.

Thanks to everyone for there kind comments. Here is a few taken during a BC ski yesterday up the Pilgrim river bottom. Lots of southern exposure in so the snows is going fast and the river up. In the spring we see trout in it that are 20" long. More photos can be found out on dogs blog. Th bottom photo was taken at the same location as the 3rd. Hope you like them!

Nice! Looks like the snow is getting bigger grained. Is it wet? I remember my first xcounty skis were from Norway, laminated wood with hard wood edges. Different waxes for different temps, but when you got it right, the ride was like magic. Perfect kick stick and glide.
