I found a synthetic cable on Ebay for about $35. It's only 8' long so it doesn't get tangled up. Live and learn. We all have bird nested a winch once or twice.

I settled on this strap for the plow and will get a synthetic rope and rubber stopper for summer.

Sorry my prediction came true!!!

I've bought several ropes over the years. In my use my life is at risk if I have a failure. I research and buy the best quality I can find. I rely on personal testimony to make that determination. We just went through that "bird's nest" with wire rope;not fun.Easy to do with a plow,just takes a second.
Anyway,just received a winch rope and will install on my friends winch next week.
