King cutter scalps on one side

What might work.
Find the low spot in the warped deck, drill a hole (like 5/16 or 3/8) bolt a short length of chain that U attach to a 4-5 ft pipe and then use a block of some kind placed on the edge of the deck and put all your weight on the long end of that pipe.
Essentially making a hefty lever to 'pop' the dent out.
That should work cold and probably bring the deck back, or close to, level.
Use a straight edge to check with spinning that blade by hand as the final verification.
If still a tad off shimming with washers should true that shaft.

Cold straightening is better than using any heat.
Should work in my opinion.
Good luck.

Ok, so I called the dealer today. They said they could not/ would not touch the deck to try to straighten. SO. I ordered another spindle, because im clumsy and already hit it with a sledge hammer and broke the pully. And, I plan on taking the old one off, using a ball pine hammer to try to get the dent out as much as I can, and then using shims to do the rest.

Thanks for all the great advice!!

I had a similar situation to deal with. Take the spindle off and put a straight edge across the deck in the area of the buckle in the deck. Check to see where your high and low points are located. Depending on how the spindle twisted you will probably have a high point on the top of the deck at one of the mounting holes and a corresponding high point(or low point) at one of the other holes where the spindle twisted and buckled the deck. You can heat up the deck and work it with a hammer and a body dolly or in my case I used a ball pein hammer and a 2 pound engineers hammer as the dolly. One as the striking hammer on the high side and one on the low side as the dolly. You should be able to work it back close enough to take the scalp out and level the deck. Another option would be to get some 2 inch square steel tube or 2 inch angle and some threaded rod, nuts, and fender washers. Drill a hole the size of the rod (which corresponds to the size of the mounting hole for the spindle. Put the drilled iron over the low side and run the rod through the hole placing the washers and a nut on the other side. Put some tension on the rod by tightening one of the nuts. If you heat the affected area and continue to tighten the nut you should be able to coax the deck back into position and the steel tube or angle gives you a straight edge as a gauge to get your deck back to flat. If necessary you can shim the spindle with a washer if absolutely necessary. Wire brush or grind the paint off the deck where you applied the heat, prime and paint and it will be as good as new. It worked for me. Good luck.
