Soundguy,

Well, I was kinda asking... but thinking out loud to create another post. Anywho, thank you for the response. It provides some information but I need more information. Don't respond here, I will create another post.

Terry

Can you take a photo of the condition. Usually, with the flexible/toggle top link connection at the cutter, the top link can be shortened without affecting the mowing level.

I recently got a digital camera, so I thought I'd go ahead and post a picture of my bush hog with the hitch pins lowered.

I had to cut the bottom off of the mounting bracket and lower the whole thing for my 4' to fit my 4010. I basically re-engineered the whole thing. Seems to be working so far. Hopefully KK will get it together. I hate to spend so much money on something and have to fix it before it is even used.

why is the implement manufacturer to blame? we have a brushog with high pins like that and it works great on our ford NAA, im sure if i put it on a small tractor like yours it wouldnt work very well, but thats not the fault of the brushog, its the fact that the tractor manufacturers are stretching the standards of the 3pt hitch, im sure your brushog would work great on an old ford, and remember the old fords were the ones that set the standard for the 3pt hitch so i would expect implement manufacturers to make implements to fit that, i think its your tractor manufacturer you should be complaining to, not your implement manufacturer

Little tractors have such interesting problems... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Man, that looks odd with your toplink sticking up like that. It seems to me KK and the rest should retool for a CUT sized cutter or someone will steal the market out from under them. Unlike markct, I think if an implement mfg sees a hole in mkt as big as the CUT one, they should fill it- not one size fits all mentality.

i forget weather it was howse or KK but at the fair a few weeks back i picked up a flyer that was about the new line of implements sized to fit todays compact tractors, im pretty sure it was called king cutters XB line, but the brocure is in the truck and its raining so i cant run out and get it now, i didnt mean in my last post that they shouldnt make implements to fit smaller tractors, i just meant that if you have a smaller than usualy 3pt setup then ya should be the one that makes sure your implement fits, its nothing KK did wrong thats why i dont see how he can blame the implement any more than the tractor. if you bought a huge boat then tried to tow it with an S-10 pickup would you blame the boat manufacturer?

Yep, I was understanding that nothing was offered, unlike trucks and boats, and looked like a buisness opportunity. I don't have a CUT- yet, so I find the implement problem quite interesting and iformative. Makes me wonder if there are problems with other implements. I'm looking at a basket case BX8200 HST to fix up for mowing my lawn and gardening, but this makes me think twice. The high pin setup is poorly engineered too. The A-frame gets bent if cutter is accidently swung into a tree while turning or when meeting/leaving steep inclines(enter chain solution). Too much leverage between deck and lift pins. Hate to bash KK, but that was one of the many problems of the "medium" duty 72-60 I bought in '01.
