King Kutter Carry All Project

Are those decking planks made out of manmade material like Trex? If so, they will probably hold up very well to weather and I believe the color goes all the way through. I'd say it's a much better choice than wood and the color even compliments the orange. Nice job! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Looks good, similar to mine but used 2x12 cause that what was laying around. Now if we just find a couple 6-way power seats /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You really did a great job on that carryall!

I bought a KingKutter from Tractor Supply back in the fall and floored it using treated pine 5/4 decking boards and galvanized bolts. Mine isn't as neat as yours, though.

It's probably a good idea to paint it, since the KK paint doesn't seem to hold up very well in the weather.

I know you'll enjoy that attachment. I think it's one of the most useful around.

Nice job. It looks way better than my KK carry all. It's still got the horrible stock paint and I don't even have any boards on it, I got a pallet that is big enough to throw on the lower arms and use that.

No Jim the planks are the standard 5/4 pressure-treated decking boards painted with some left over opaque stain I used on our porch swing/A-frame project from last summer.
The man made stuff would be nice, kinda pricey though I think.
I was gonna deck it with pressure-treated ¾” plywood, but man a sheet of that wet stuff is heavy and hard to handle and more expensive than these boards. I liked the look of this better anyway and with the gaps between the planks I figure it will be somewhat self-cleaning, allowing dirt to fall through the cracks.
One can of good quality spray paint is just barely enough to get the frame painted. I wiped it down with lacquer thinner to take off the gloss and dirt and leave the surface slightly tacky for good paint adhesion.
Should have sprung for galvanized carriage bolts but I figured the plated ones would last as long as the boards.
