I got the 5 footer for my B2910 about 7 years ago and it has been great .... chucks up football-sized rocks .... and never misses a beat ....

Reminds me .... I need to change the gear oil in it ....

mine is about 3 years old, just noticed cracks around the welds for the upper sheet metal; going to add some spacers and stop the metal from vibrating and cracking..
Just did the side gear oil in mine this year; it caught a lot of moisture it it-- wish there was a drain plug for it...

What size are you going to get? I got a 6 foot for my L4400 and it does a great job.

I think I am going to go with the 6 footer. I have a buddies 5 footer on right now and keep thinking I wish it was just a bit wider. I am putting in a new yard and the tiller is the best thing going, it beats doing it with my 6hp Honda 50 to 1. Seems a 6' should be a good match, I been ruining the 5 footer at about 1300-1400 rpms and I can't even tell it is back there! Thought about a 7 footer but they are few and far between and my wallet is not nearly that thick!

Thanks for the heads up .... I'll have to scope mine out ....

I just changed the gearbox oil in my MMM this past week .... don't recall if I've ever done it before .... it sits outside a lot ....

The old oil came out looking like a Jamocha shake from Arby's .... :(

I used mine to loosen the soil to install a septic system leach field. I was able to loosen with the tiller and then scoop with the FEL.

check it again after runnin git.. if you didn't get all the water or emulsified oil out.. it wil emulsify up again. if so.. add diesel and rubbing alcohol and atf fluid.. run a bit to mix.. drain.. drip dry.. add oil.. etc..

Thanks for the heads up .... I'll have to scope mine out ....

Chris,

Thanks. When I changed it I drained it and put the drain plug back in and then filled it with diesel and spun the PTO shaft by hand back and forth and then drained it again. First drain of diesel was still pretty milky looking so I did that two or three times ..... after that I shot some CRC Brakleen into it and then blew it out real good with compressed air and finally filled it with Mobil 1 gear oil.

Plan was to mow with it once - which will take a couple of hours - and then drain and change it again to clear out any residual ....

The gearbox is so small that it's not a real expensive proposition

may not have to. you likely got 90+% of the water out with the good flush and solvents.. even though they did not solvate water. any h20 leftover SHOULD flassh off first good hot mow. but check it for milkshake to be sure.. if amber.. you are good..
