Next year I will need a rotary mower. Expectation will be for use on grass and weed control in a new wildflower acreage. A local ag supply is closing out this years model of King Kutter's Flex Hitch model. (domed) I like the price but am concerned about durability, the gearbox, and the 1-year warranty. I am also looking @ Woods as another possibility, but the price is more than double. Any opinions or suggestions?

Thanks

You might be better off posting this question in the attachments section for more replies.

I haven't seen anything from King Kutter that looks heavy duty enough for my needs. My father in law brought his (fairly new) KK out this spring and summer to take care of my brush hog customers and spent quite a bit of time welding on it and taking parts off my old shredders to try to keep it together. He finally got tired of wrenching on it and ended up using my well-worn Bush Hog.

I went through the same decision this fall. I had an old howse that would have took countless hours and metal to get it working again. Then it still would have been a polished turd. So like you I looked at the KK models that where on close out for $900 at fleet farm. I see you are from Wisconsin so you know where that is. I also looked at the Woods Brush Bull. This is all around a heavier duty cutter. I planned on mowing saplings so really wanted something that would last. I went to the local woods dealer and offered him invoice for a unit he had sitting there all summer. He thought about it a while and finally said sure because he needs to move some equipment. I have used it once and it didn't disappoint.

We own several Woods bush hogs and can tell you they are worth every penny. Very well built durable mowers

Thanks for the input. I have several Woods attachments, all appear well made and durable. I'll know more about the snow blower soon enough!

I have reposted the original question on Attachments, and have asked specifically about the 6 foot unit applied to my tractor on the Bobcat site.
