Kioti and parts availability warning

/ Kioti and parts availability warning #41
really, any tractor company is going to have good parts support in the near term. When equipment get 10-20-30 years old is when you start to know.

parts departments are run by the numbers. If you have a higher machine population and parts sales happening then continuing to support the machines over the long haul is economically viable. Conversely, if its a unique machine and not many are still in the field the vendor won't be able to keep supplying parts as the turns won't be there. Not necessarily saying this is a big or small \ or Kioti vs whoever issue. There are Deere or CNH machines where parts are spotty simply because they did not sell many of them, and you'll continue to find parts for some tractors forever because they've been hugely popular models.

Agree. And, I'm sure that thirty years ago the JD and NH salesmen were warning folks about this newcomer Kubota who didn't have the parts and service infrastructure set up and probably would leave owners holding the bag. There is some truth to these concerns especially for rebadged brands that pop up now and then. Not so much a concern for globally established companies like Mahindra or Kioti though.

I don't disagree. I'd personally feel better about Kioti than many others given that they are actually building their own tractor.

Excellent point. I'll point out the well regarded Ford and New Holland CUT's built by Shibaura as a good example of the other side of the coin. Within 5 minutes of the CNH /ISM divorce on the wholegoods side, many parts for these tractors became either expensive, obsolete, or chronically on back order.
