For the size of your property, and the chores at hand, including a large food plot, I would strongly lean towards a 35Hp tractor. Choosing a brand is often of personal preferences, as they all offer the same basics. I would look for good ergonomics, compare true loader and 3PTH values, what engine is under the hood and its reliability and reputation. Also it is good to know how much adjustment is provided for the 3PTH linkages. How strong are they built? Is the steel cast, or pressed sheet metal...etc. Tractor ground height is almost allways missed as well. R1 tires offer more height vrs R4s. If you chose to go with R4 tires, make sure you have about three inches of space between tire and wheel well, for tire chains provisions. Since you have much grading, you will use your bucket extensively. Therefore, you won't regret opting for the HST transmission. Loader third function is a must as you seem to have already decided upon. Also, for your loader valve, make sure to get the "float" function(factory install). You will love it when grading, and doing your snow.
Try tractors at as many dealerships as possible. Lift and lower the loader while on the move, do the same with the 3PTH. See how fast they move, the tilting angle of the bucket is also important. When you scoop dirt, you want the maximum materiel to stay in the bucket while on the move. When dumping your load, you want all of it out quickly (most of the time) without any finicking. Many details to look for; as they will influence greatly your long term investment. Go to an LS dealer, their machines offer quite impressive features and performance, and they do pay attention to details. Great bang for the buck! Regardless of the loader you get, make sure it is a quick attach. Attachment interchangeabilty dictates it.
If you are not sure about something, keep the questions coming! T.B.N. membership is so varied, you will get tones of recommendations and help.
One last thing: do not let $1000 difference in pricing influence your purchase. A tractor is more than merely a toy. It is an instrument of hard labour!!
Good luck, and make sure to post pics of your new mount!![]()
On my way now to the kioti dealer to actually drive the ck30/35 . I would love to check out LS but closest dealer is 2+hours away . I just noticed cabelas has their tym rebadged 35hp tractor on sale with mower for 19,999, tym was on my original list but no dealer close by, cabelas is about 45 miles away, worth a look?
