Price Check Kioti DK40SE HST

Here is the thread on the L3800 loader. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/221013-l3800-fel-lift-capacity-ha.html

Do you guys think the Ck series 130 loader can handle the bales like the ones in that thread?

When dealing with things like this, you have to ask yourself, how much did that bale actually weigh? I didn't see a scale anywhere. How much are the bales you are wanting to lift weigh? A lot of estimating going on here. Did you see LD1's post in that thread?. He has a lot of experience and common sense. So my answer to your question is I don't know.

I would really like to go with the dk40 Hst w R4 tires.
If I take the loader off, do you think I could pull a 72" or 84" finish mower and not do to much damage to the yard?

I've used my LS R4047 with the FEL and bucket in place (over 5K pounds) while finish mowing parts of my yard (90" RFM), and it does fine. You have to be a little careful about tight turns, but that's about it.

I'll second that $21K is a heck of a price. I know every state is different but I bought my DK40SE from an out of state dealer (Texas) and I didn't get charged any sales tax. Great tractor.

No the Texas dealer wouldn't have charged you sales tax, but legally you are obligated to pay Kansas a use tax unless you qualified for some other form of tax-free status.

normally you can get away without the sales tax from an out of state dealer, but the more the purchase value the higher the risk of getting caught

true enough. But it would be interesting to know, for those folks who buy out of state and pay cash so there is a limited paper trail of ownership back to their home state, how many of them, on their own volition, pay the appropriate sales tax, as required, in their home state? My guess - less than 10%. I did, but I wouldn't necessarily begrudge anyone who doesn't because the reality is a gazillion $'s in online sales occur everyday with a good portion of that done without sales tax collected and/or paid. Everyone has their own "moral compass" on this issue and I'm sure would come up with valid arguments supporting their position but no need to hijack the thread in that direction.

Oh, I'm sure you're right...no doubt. I have seen a slight trend in states starting to go after this stuff as they run out of revenue from other sources, but that's no huge surprise at this point, unfortunately.

In my state you are supposed to record out of state purchases when you file your income taxes, at that point you would either pay in the tax or it would be deducted out of whatever refund you would otherwise get, notice I said "supposed to". I believe we also has a sort of personal property tax also but I don't think anyone bothers with it unless audited or maybe businesses.

Just wondering if something of this weight could be used for grass. I have a Dixie Chopper but my back is getting worse every year. The Dixie is fast but it can really beat up my back. Thought a finish mower on a large tractor would be smoother in the yard. I used to mow with my L2550, but it is much lighter and 2wd. Maybe I should keep the L2550 for grass. The plan is to sell it.

I drive all over my yard without damage. With 4wd engaged, there's almost never any wheel spin (which I do get sometimes in 2wd). The FEL on front does make for a 'long rig' with mower on back. My dealer recommended that I sell my old (smaller Ford 1000) tractor -- which I did. There have been a few times when I regretted not having a 2nd tractor -- one hooked up to wagon, the other with FEL piling in firewood. But, I'm glad I did, as one would have had to set outside and require more maintenance as it got older.

Unless the ground is wet my DK40 is pretty good on lawn. However, I stay out of 4WD except when pushing straight ahead. Turning on the lawn while in 4wd is almost guaranteed to tear up a few divots. 4WD is however very useful to avoid accidentally spinning the rear wheels when pushing on a lawn surface.
