Kioti has teamed up with Woods

Let me try to clear a few things up for all the naysayers and "know-it-alls". Kioti desperately needed an implement line. Their previous arrangement w/ Tarter didn't pan out too well, low quality equipment and a very limited "menu". Woods gives Kioti a good quality product , one that is well known and has a broad selection of up to @ 250 different products in most of their categories. The only product they won't have access to are the dirt working buckets, etc. side, the flail shredders, backhoes and loaders. They will have a full selection of cutters up to 20', rear blades, boxes, tillers etc.. Basically the whole core line.

One thing you have to realize is, Kioti, Kubota, LS or whoever are tractor makers, not implement manufacturers. That is not their business, where as L.P., Woods, Rhino or others are in the business of making implements, not tractors. So if a tractor company wants implements, then they need to partner w/ someone like Kioti is doing or purchase like Kubota did w/ L.P..
As far as the name reflecting Kioti and not Woods, what's it matter? It's all what the 2 companies decide. In the this case they both made the decision to put the Kioti name only on it.
Woods doesn't care. The SN tag on all the implements states Woods so it not a total secret.
Look at Frontier. They have more than 20 companies making the implements for them and none of them say John Deere or manufactured by_______. It says Frontier only.

For the poster who said he doesn't like his woods dealers, sorry, you (anyone) will not be able to get Woods parts through a Kioti dealer. Only parts for that particular Kioti piece. Now if it fits a Woods product then ok, you can get it. All replacement parts will be black. But you will not be able to get a belt for a 20 yr. old RM59 finish mower or something for your Woods loader or backhoe from the Kioti dealer.
All parts will be ordered through Kioti but shipped from Woods. Kioti at this point is not stocking parts at their warehouse. Also, all implement orders for Kioti will be shipped directly from Woods to the dealer on Woods trucks.

Pretty simple and straight forward until everyone starts putting their own spin on it.

You were doing so well til you said "Woods doesn't care". Of course they care. And they were paid very well by Kioti to rebadge. Kioti is going to capitalize on this and so is Woods. Just don't quite see where it saves the consumer any money?

Good explanation.

Maybe because it's cheaper for kioti to hire out their implement building to Woods who is already set up to build a good quality product than to ramp up their own production facilities and build it themselves. It could very well cost the consumer more than previous implements built by tarter and if that's the case so be it I'd rather pay more for a superior product

Of course it's cheaper for Kioti, that's why they are doing it. No question about that. And it increases Woods market share, which increases their profit to sell the same piece under two names. No question about that.

Where does it benefit the consumer?

What in your opinion would benefit the consumer? I'm not really understanding where you are coming from.

Nobody is forcing the consumer to buy a kioti implement, we are all free to shop around and buy a dirt dog, woods, rhino, bush hog, whatever or go used, it's just another option and a way for kioti to market a better product than they previously had.

I'm "coming from" the fact that I can already buy the Woods cutter in Kioti orange. What benefit is in it for me to buy the same cutter with a Kioti sticker on it??

I'm opposed to these deals as I explained wayyyy back in this thread. It's deceptive marketing. And it's done by many, many brands. And I'll say for the third time, in a couple years there will be a heated discussion on TBN about which cutter is better, Woods or Kioti. That's because the average buyer will never consider that Kioti "might" not build that cutter. "Of course they built it, there name is on it!!!!!". :)

I totally understand the benefit for Kioti. Very, very, very smart move on their part!!!! :)

Well I would like to think most people in the market for tractors and implements are bright enough to realize that not everything is made by the name on the hood, at least I would hope that they are anyways, though you are right, probably they aren't. However if the pricing is comparable what does it hurt? My point is only that it's better fit them to rebrand a decent product than a piece garbage

Undoubtedly. And it will increase their annual profits.

We just need to all accept this is not for our benefit. It only benefits us if this merger is the survival rope for Woods. Otherwise it's all for those two company's benefit.

Ya I guess generally when someone is in business they try to make decisions to benefit their interests, they also need to keep pricing competitive it else nobody buys their stuff

With three manufacturing/assembly plants in Georgia, LP in Kansas, a new US distribution facility in Kansas and US corporate HQ in California, Kubota is not quite considered an imported tractor today.

A Kubota tractor with a Kubota/US manufactured FEL and Kubota/US manufactured Backhoe plus other bits and pieces may have 60% (?) US content? Add in a couple of LP implements in a package sale and perhaps US content increase to 80%?

This commences a US footprint for Kioti in implements. I am sure Kioti and LS are in the USA for the long term.

Where does it benefit the consumer?

More Woods/Kioti equipment will soon be available to consumers in Canada and Mexico through Kioti dealers.
