Kioti LB1914 Hyd Pump Question

I have an LB1914 with 280 hours with a Kioti front loader. Tractor is probably 4-5 years old (guess). They hydraulics are non exisitant at idle. The respond well at anything above 1800 RPM. I have checked the relief valves to verify that they are not stuck open. Do they make a larger Hydraulic pump for these tractors? I use an amazing amount of fuel just getting the rpms to run the loader/three point.

Did you check and make sure the deverter valve is open all the way?

I have moved the diverter valve. In one position I get no hydraulic action no matter the engine RPM. In the other, I get hydraulic action at higher RPMs. I should clarify, if I have the tractor idling and raise the three point or hold the bucket controls they will start moving after 20-30 seconds. The movement is hardly noticable. The power steering works just fine under any conditions.

I have removed the relief valves and found no broken springs or trash in the seats, nothing notably out of order. I have also checked the hydraulic fluid and cleaned the filter.

My LB 1914 will move the loader at idle, very slowly but immediately. Same with 3ph.

The LB1914 will just barely move the loader until you increase the rpm's.
Did you just receive this machine or have you had it for a while and it just started to work like this?

Does the hyd pump make a lot of noise at low rpm, If making noise it could be sucking air. check all the fitting and tighten the hose clamps.

I've had the tractor a little less than a year. It has always acted like this. I am third owner I believe. I"m not sure it has been taken car of all that great, but it is low hours. It is also in the hard to start cold catagory, but I've not known many diesels that are not. The ring gear and starter gears are all tore up. Got the new parts, but need to get them on. The pump makes no noise whatsoever. I've had a dealer tell me that the new 1914's have larger pumps than the older ones. The owners manual shows it having a 6gpm, but I'm not sure if that is actually what is on the tractor. The pump looks original. How big of a pump does a new 1914 have? 10GPM? I would buy a new pump, even a used pump if it was a larger pump that would not overload the relief valves. If there is a larger pump available, how much larger is it?

I 'm putting a bigger pump (10gpm)on my 3054. The price has gone up almost double. It's around 500 bucks. I'm not sure if that would be the same for yours though.

Your tractor would be a '95. It is possible for your tractor to have many more hours and still only show what you have if the previous owners disconnected the tach cable or if the tach cable broke and they never replaced it, except for when they sold it. I would check for air leaks as another member checked. If your tractor is that old then it would be a good idea to go ahead and check all fittings and replace that rubber pipe by your filter.

The new LB1914's have a hyd pump of 6.0 GPM which should be same as yours.

I would check the hyd pressure of your tractor and see what you get.

What determines the year? Is it the 1st digit or letter? If so, mine starts with a "D" does that mean it was built in 04?

Check your filter it sounds like it is not tightly sealed

correct... if it is a nine digit SN# then the first digit (or letter) is the last digit in the year. they started this system in 1994 so anything older than 94 is an 8 digit number, and you have to get ahold of Kioti for an approx year.

Just wondering if you ever solved your problem, I too have a LB1914 and I always wondered whether I could adapt a larger Hyd. Pump on it to speed up the loader functions without having to rev the engine so much! Has anyone ever done this?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I would like to add a front loader to a LB1914 4x4 Kioti. Where would I attach the hydraulic lines? Would a Kubota hydraulic pump that runs off the front of the crankshaft work? thanks, gregjo1948
