Hi,just found this site seems like a good place to get answers to a few questions on the used 2004 Kioti LK3054 XS tractor i just purchased. Paid 12,000.00 with FEL 500 hours.excellent condition, stored in heated garage.
Was this a fair price?
Like to install backhoe..would this tractor handle one?
Anyone with a KIOTI LK3054 XS have a few tips for me,i would appreciate it.
It will be delivered tomorrow,so i didn't work it yet,
Thanks...

I have an '04 3054xs TLB that I purchased new in '05.As noted, mine came with a KB2376 hoe installed, and it is quite capable. My tractor was also equipped with an aluminum hydraulic pump which would not support either the FEL nor the hoe once hot, and was replaced, under warranty, with a cast iron pump. Before spending the money for a hoe, you should determine which pump your unit has installed. The only other issue I've encountered is a winter cold start issue, which I've somewhat overcome with a coolant heater. Strong little tractor

Thanks for reply,i'll check the pump out first.

I had a Kubota a few years back and when i put the FEL all the way down it would lift front wheels off the ground, but my Kioti won't lift up,do that mean it's not getting enough pressure from the pump?It lifts up and down, but not very fast.
Thanks
Ben

Mine will lift the tractor with either the FEL or the hoe, so it would not surprise me if yours has the aluminum pump;you should be able to check by attaching(or trying to) a magnet to the pump body. Before they changed my pump out, it wouldn't lift the tractor, in fact wouldn't even curl the hoe bucket in live sand once the hydraulic fluid got hot.It would when the fluid was cool however.I was not very pleased with the performance, initially:mad:

Hi,
My BH should be here tomorrow!I was checking the fluid level by opening the RED plastic covers 2 of them, one above pto and the other in the middle of my tractor...no dipsticks..seems like there's no fluid in there.Checked it with my finger and there's no fluid...the 2 red caps say OIL on them..It was serviced with only 5 hours on it since the oil and filter change, serviced by Koiti dealer...This is newto me so it might sound a bit dumb:ashamed:
The bucket will now raise up front wheels,so that's ok for now.....
Should i add fluid if so what type?:confused::confused:
Thanks
Ben............

There should be a viewing window on the transmission just about by your right foot.

Top off with "Universal Tractor Fluid",do not use hydraulic oil. Best if you could determine the manufacturer of the fluid used for the hydraulic service done by the dealer and use the same fluid

Thanks,
I may have made a mistake,i used about 2 Qts fluid same stuff used in Kubota Tractor...I tried to lift my BH in crate of the truck, but it wouldn't lift 1100 lbs
so i added fluid, still wouldn't lift it....Wish i had to read your reply before.Sure hope i didn't screw anything up:(
They took the BH back to the depot, should have it tomorrow, waiting on a truck with a lift!
Thanks Again.
Ben......
Found out it's good for 900 lbs with 700 lb ballast..had no ballast so it would have tipped anyway!
I won't try that again!! It's the fluid i put in i'm concerned about now...Kubota Hyd fluid i think!!

Most smaller Kubota's are a common sump and use UTF or UTF 2, which are a UTF(universal tractor fluid). A couple qts would not hurt the system, as I believe most, if not all UTF's are compatable. I'm not certain what, if any, effect 2qts of hydraulic oil would have in a UTF enviroment

I'm pretty well sure the fluid was UTF....
The viewing glass shows 3/4 full, but when i open the filler caps you can't see or feel any oil! Should i add more fluid to it?:confused2:
Thanks :)

So long as you can see the level in the sight glass you're good-to-go.I fill mine so the level is near the top of the glass, but if you get a little too much, and the level goes above the upper rim of the glass, it's difficult to determine the level because the utf's almost clear and hard to see. Best to have it within the range of the glass

The sight glass shows over 3/4 full now,so not seeing fluid is ok?? So it don't make any difference if you fill from the front or back of tractor?? Guess it all goes to the same place!
Thanks for all your advice!
Cheers

You have more than enough fluid you couldikely run 3-4 quarts below what you have and you'd see no difference in power the amount of fluid halls with keeping the fluid cool if you were super low you'd hear the pump starving for fluid then you'd likely see degradation in power

I can lift my hoe with my loader and I have aluminium pump with 300 hours although I doubt I could lift it with pallet forks way out in front of my machine

You have a good basic and strong tractor

Did you get the kioti backhoe?

I would think nothing of the mixed oil

Thanks Joel,
The pallet forks i have are way to heavy, looks like they came of a big forklift and brackets made to fit FEL ..they were with the tractor when i bought it.

My BH is a China made LW6,trying to make up brackets to keep the pump from moving on the PTO...Any tips on doing this? It was in a crate, got it all together, except the pump frame.....anxious to try it out..
Thanks
Ben......:)
