Kioti NX vs Kubota L

Regarding long term dependability, they will likely both be good. The Kioti has a slightly stronger loader, but I feel the Kubota has a nicer cab (materials quality). Some people feel the HST+ trans on the Kubota is worth the extra money, but you'll have to decide.

You really should spend time on each machine... Get to know each. That should help your decision.

I think if you want to save some money (who doesn't) then don't test drive the Kubota. I don't mean that in a bad way by any means, but I think that after trying out (and getting used to) the HST plus, you will really like it compared to the Kioti without it.

I don't have it, and never missed/wanted it on my Kubota, but then I drove my neighbors L5740.....

In fact, I didn't want another HST tractor in general at one time, but then learned I can get the HST plus, and I'm now back to not wanting anything but. I really like the HST plus, a lot.

I think if you never test drive one, and just go with the Kioti right off the bat, you will be happy as can be and never miss the differences. The Kioti is a great tractor in every way. Seeing that your going from 1980's technology to brand new, you will be blown away by how nice the new tractor is (regardless of what you get).

I say save yourself 10 grand and go with the Kioti. They really aren't all that much different.
If it was me however, I'd go with the Kubota.

(By the way, I do not believe in any way that you are "paying for the name" with either Kubota or Deere or any other tractor manufacturers for that matter. Also, I do not agree with most people in the importance of a good dealer, never have. Most tractors never go back to the dealer, and unfortunately, you typically spend a lot more money buying parts from them as well.)

Either way, you have an awesome predicament to be in!

I think that most of the people on here that emphasize "dealer" are dealers.

I really like my HST+ Transmission. It's hard to get back on a regular HST.

Great info guys, thank you very much for the help, I really appreciate it!

Is the NX the right Kioti to compare to the L? Seems like it is, but I just wanted to check. The L seems to be in the same range and NX is only Kioiti with a HST; the RX doesn't have it.

I watched the video on the HST plus tranny, it does seem nice, I just wonder how much I'd use it (or, more correctly, how much I'd appreciate having it).

It sounds like this is one of those "you can't really go wrong" kind of things. If that's the case, I'll probably save the $$ and go with the Kioti, I'm not professionally using it and I'm never going to put "farm hours" on a tractor anyway. Just want a good, reliable and powerful machine to use around my home, sounds like I'm not crazy in looking hard at the Kioti.

The L is the standard tractor, the Grand L is the one with HST+, confusing for most of us, I had to look up the Kioti NX to really know much about it, but yes essentially you can't go wrong going with the Kioti and it will save you quite a bit of money.

TripleR,

My mistake, yes, I'm talking about the Grand L, not the standard L. **** these manufacturers love to make their product like confusing, don't they?

If you are an inexperienced tractor owner, a good dealer is more important than the brand. With more experience the dealer is less important

Sure do, I have to look them up now; use to know pretty much by just the designation.

With some of the things you're staring. I bet the Kioti would work just fine for your needs.

Yes I own a Kubota and Yes I am saying a Kioti will fit your needs and save you some coin.

I can go into why I like my HST+ and why it's worth it along with the convenience etc.

For your needs and your description with in guessing 100 or so use per year, a Kioti would be fine.

Here, I'll put another spin in here people may dislike. One guy in here likes his Mahinndra others have LS brand which used to make the New Holland boomer etc. Be sure just to look around.

I'm on my third Kubota and am sure things will go wrong with it that will need to be fixed. They will be fixed and I'll move forward. It's life and the nature of hard work on a machine as accidents happen.

Part time user you shouldn't have an issue with anything new.
