Eric, thanks for the video. Very good idea.

What is the lubicant mentioned in the video? I couldn't understand when listening what you called it. I have always used WD40, but if your product is better, I'd like to give it a try.

Fluid Film. I buy it at my local Napa but here is an Amazon link:

Amazon.com: fluid film

I'll take a thumbs up on the video then so it is easier to find for the next guy. :)

I thumbed up twice  , I used my TVs account for the second lol.

Did you ever settle on a Hydraulic Oil brand and type? After my Dealership got done fixing the multiple leaks after reconnecting the backhoe; they never refilled the fluid.
Now that being said I went down to them and had a talk with them and they gave me a 2.5gal of New Holland-Ambra Multi-G 134 Fluid. I am not a expert by any means, but I would only hope they would not give me something that is incompatible with what is currently in there.

I recommend against WD40 for lubricating, it's actually a penetrating oil for loosening seized metal. Having been in manufacturing for some time, I learned that WD40 draws moisture out of the metal (I think it's hygroscopic) and over time it will accelerate rusting if the metal hasn't been cleaned and retreated with a different oil. Fluid film works great as a corrosion inhibitor because it wicks into the cracks. I treat everwhere I don't want rust to form. It does however collect a lot of dirt and Its only a moderate lubricant, so I wouldn't want it wicking into a seal or a friction bearing as it might dilute the grease that there. It doesn't seem to hurt automotive sealed bearings.

I was in Lowes today, and they carry Fluid Film @ $9.95, cheaper than Amazon. I don't know NAPA's price. I picked up a can. Looking forward to using it. It gets 5 star rating from most users on Amazon.

Jerry, thanks for the note about Lowes carrying Fluid Film. I was just going to try hunting some down and now I know right where to go!
