I understand it is a dealer problem I realy do ,but i dont think it is right for kioti to tell the customer it is between the dealer and him. In the end the only person hurt is the customer who may or may not be forced to pay for repairs made under waranty.

This kind of thing can go on with any brand....
I talk to ALOT of other dealers, not just Kioti dealers.
I have heard them all at one time or another talk a bout a "bad" dealer in their respective brand.

A good dealer means alot.

I don't think customers realize exactly how much a good dealer will go out of their way to help their customer.
Anytime a dealer comes to your house and picks up or drops off, warranty or not, they aren't paid for that.
Very few brands pay a dealer for pickup and delivery.

Talk to customers in your area and see what they say about "your" dealer.

This should be done no matter which brand you ultimately choose.

Kiohio - I was getting ready to throw in my two cents to indebt and after I logged in, I saw your reply. You said it all.

indebt - a year of looking?? Man, that is patience. Two months is all I could take. My wife had also hit her limit about tractor talk /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. After I bought, she said, "it's about time!!". If this one incident is swaying you, then maybe you should wait,but you may also see a problem with another brand\dealer and then it starts all over again. Go ahead, .......leap!

I don’t have a Kioti as most of you know, but I have watched Kioti grow with much interest. Competition is good and it is what any industry needs. This thread needs to reinforce the idea to find a good dealer no matter what the brand. A tractor or any piece of equipment is just as good as its dealer. What I want to say to prospective buyers: Look at your dealer before you buy. Kioti has come a long way and the way it looks they have going farther. Yes, they are having growing pains, any young company does. (Before anyone says that Kioti isn’t a new company, they are in this country, but they will work the problems out.) Good dealers are one of hardest things to come by. If you have a good dealer, work with them not against them.

I can really see your point here. Really. It would tick me off big time if I were a Kioti dealer. I just think the point that "indebt" (know that feeling) is making, and I mentioned earlier, is that in a way it actually is a problem for Kioti. I still have to completely disagree with "wallace" when he says that it is not Kioti's problem. That sounds like the answer the original poster is getting from his dealer. I'd definitely not bother to patronize a dealer like that. Afterall, don't most people here advise to pick a dealer above a particular brand of tractor? I actually had a dealer tell me something similar this last year. And, no, it wasn't a Kioti dealer. It just so happened that once I called the tractor manufacturer and explained in detail what happened, the problem was solved almost immediately. The manufacturer made it clear to the dealer that they were not to be represented in such a fashion. That manufacturer most certainly did not tell me that it wasn't their problem.

This thread and thoughts such as "indebt" expressed prove that whether it's their fault on a particular issue or not, it ultimately is a Kioti problem. If they do not exert any pressure on dealers to take care of their (Kioti's) customers, Kioti will be the ultimate recipient of the black eye. I think that readers like "indebt" become concerned when they see dealers on here stating that it is not any problem of the manufacturer's. I'm personally not concerned about Kioti because I definitely believe that Kioti would see this as a problem for them and they would take appropriate action if only the right person at Kioti is contacted. I honestly do not believe that Kioti has no concerns about how their dealers treat their customers. I believe Kioti is above that.

I understand quite well about warranty work and flat rate pay, I have been in that business for 20 years. Where it appears that Kioti dropped the ball is not in what they apparently paid, but in telling the customer to basically go bark up another tree. Someone else correctly said that it really is an issue between Kioti and their dealer. That is why I said that if the owner of the Kioti tractor contacted a Kioti regional or national sales rep, I'd just bet my shorts that the Kioti sales rep wouldn't simply tell the customer that it isn't his problem. I would think that the Kioti sales manager would see it for what it is; not a $75 issue, but an issue with a dealer giving Kioti a bad reputation. Then, I'd bet the sales manager would contact the dealer in question and get to the bottom of it one way or another. As far as I know, since I wasn't there and I haven't seen any of the paperwork, the additional amount could be for an oil change or something else that is totally unrelated and should not be paid.

In general, I see most manufacturers go way above and beyond the call of duty for their customer. I really doubt that Kioti is not paying for something that they should pay. The problem, and the reputation damage, comes when a dealer creates an adversarial position between himself and a customer and the manufacturer doesn't do anything to remedy that situation.

Wow... hard to believe how fast this has gone. In the end, this "problem" has so many layers to it that you kind of need to sort it out.

1) The $75 charge is the dealers to eat/gag/choke on. Whatever he sees fit. It's not the customer's fault his techs may be incompetent.

2) Kioti needs to reign in this dealer before he screws/tries to screw any more people and get its name drug through the mud any more.

The facts are that flat rates are flat rates. As several before me have said, good techs will make a dealership a little money on warranty work, but bad techs will lose it.

The $75 is a problem between the customer and dealer BUT when the customer called Kioti and they did not help resolve the dispute (READ: jerk the chain on the crooked/misinformed dealer) THEN it became Kioti's problem as well. I agree that someone needs to get a hold of an area rep and let him know what is going on. The heart and soul of Kioti would have an attack (bad pun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) if they knew what was going on here.

Now that I have said my two cents.. how soon till this is put to rest?

My 2 cents on this.
I am one who does not like to pass judgement until I've heard all sides of the story, so no comment on the $75.00 Charge.
Now, in regards to the bad press Kioti is getting on this issue, that's another story.
Would it be possible for one of the dealers to contact Kioti Corporate and maybe get someone to come on TBN and actually see the damage this thread is doing?
I honestly believe if someone in power could see what is happening over a measly $75, this would be resolved rather quickly.

I wasn't skeered to buy a Kioti and I don't regret it for one minute. I've got a great dealer that see's to it I'm taken care of. Everybody will tell you that the dealer is a big piece of the tractor puzzle. BTW, haven't needed any warranty work either. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
