I've had a 5" K.K. 3pt brush cutter for about 5 years and the blades have hit alot of rocks and postes ETC and are in bad shape . I purched new blades and a socket wrench big enogh to fit over the bolds to take the blades off . They won't budge . I dont have a cutting torch , At this poit I would break them off and get new ones . Is there any tricks to getting them off ? Thanks

A little heat would be the best. You could try a little propane torch. Sometimes those will heat it up enough to help break it loose.

Matt, have you checked to see if they are reverse threads? I also have a KK and if my memory is correct, they are reverse threads.

I actually got one off this evening . I had soaked them in diesel fuel last night . I put a socket on and a big breaker bar and with two guys it barly came off /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif I was relly just hopening it would break off until I look up the cost at 18 dollers a bolt . I think I'll try to heat the other one up tomorrow and see but it wouldn't budge . Worst case sanareo Ill load it up and take it into town . Thanks for the replys !

You could always take off the stump jumper at the drive spindle to make it easier to transport.

Reverse threaded? Yikes! I would have never thought.
