I'm enjoying the bad case the "price creap" bug. Started out $15K all inclusive for a tractor.....but for 50% more I can get this much more machine! $1500 for a mower......but for 50% more it is built this much better!

Sonny, I'm laughing with you not at you! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You're far from the first to catch that bug, and most are glad they did. Ussually getting their "right tool for the job". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I can assure you I was (past tense) pretty useless when it comes to tractors and implements. What I have learned is from all you professionals and the countless threads I have read. I can read pretty fast and I read a lot... don't always absorb everything but I can copy and paste pretty good.

TBN is a wonderful place to learn everything there is to know about tractors. There will be even more learning experiences once I get my tractor and get a few hundred hours on it.

The whole bit about wanting to save money boiled down to me not seeing how I could afford all this stuff. I really didn't want to spend more than $15K, or should I say finance more than $15K. All that was true up and until I stumbled across $3K... then $5K... then $8K... then all of the sudden $18K of extra money. I just took a little draw out of my capital in my company (sweet

). I just didn't think about it at first. $18K goes a long ways towards a tractor and implements and it allowed me to be able to buy more than expected. Now I figure when I'm done I'll only be financing somewhere around $10K and that includes building a nice big shelter for my tractor and all the implements I'm getting.

( I cannot afford a 10' cutter... that's out. I've priced a few and I just cannot do it
checked on that 8' dual spindle Kodiak... it's $2200.
Brown's 7' ... I can actually get it for $2225 (retails for $2860
)

If you could go 3pt instead of drawn... the Howse 10' mower is priced right inthere with those 7' and 8' mowers...

Price on their 3pt 10' is $3400... maybe a dealer would price it lower though. Still 13000 blade tip speed and overall specs don't match up to Brown or Kodiak.

I'm really liking the 7' more. It may take me a little longer to mow but that's okay.

Much less.. As for blade tip speed.. I don't know what mine is.. but it cuts everything I have fine.
