Kubota 1100C RTV versus RTVX

/ Kubota 1100C RTV versus RTVX #21
There is an evolution to today's side by side UTV's. From dirt bikes, to three wheelers, to four wheelers, to big four wheelers, to side by sides, to UTV's. From dirt bikes with motor cycle engines to the modern UTV's with dedicated four cylinder engines. However the Kubota RTV is entirely a different machine, it's roots coming from tractor engines and transmissions, not motorcycles. To compare them is not really being honest, their roots and uses were never the same. While UTV's came from the weekend dirt biker guys, the RTV was an commercial agricultural machine from the start. The four wheeler became popular on rural properties and farms for obvious reasons and those manufactures have recognized this and began to move in that direction over the last few years. The RTV has remained unchanged until this year. Clearly Kubota has tried to grab some of the recreation market with their new model. While the evolution between the two has moved closer together the RTV remains clearly a commercial agriculture piece of equipment and should not be compared to a light recreational UTV doing those light jobs on the farm. Clearly there is a price difference and people buy what they can afford to get the job done. Throwing a hay bale in a UTV doesn't make it an RTV, like wise putting a fishing rod in my RTV doesn't make it a trail machine. HS

Ok the guy gave me a base price of $19,250. With front work lights, rear light, cv joint guards front and rear, rear glass guard, radio, and sunvisors it's $20,070. How does that compare?

You should have no issue getting 10% of retail with Kubota. 15% is common, but more than 15% off retail is very unusual. Anywhere in the 12-15% off retail pricing is a good deal! Sometimes more can be squeezed by dealing for other things like having dealer cover 50hr service in deal. HS

That price included 1 year warranty. Pricing out on kubota's site it is $23,526.

23,526 x .85 = 19,997

My price is in the middle at 20,070 which is 12% off

23,526 x .90 = 21,173

So defensive over what someone that you don't even know said. Maybe he just got a lemon? Who knows, I do trust his opinion on machinery as he runs tractors a bit bigger than a TC33 for a living :yuck: Don't shoot the messenger.

I offered my first hand opinion of the RTV verses a second hand rant. Also, that tc33 is mostly used as a garden tractor and mows my yard very nice thank you!

Is the receiver hitch 1.5" on the RTVX 1100's? I looked at one again today and it didn't look like 2" like I thought I had read before.

Both my 1100C & 900 have 2" front & back.

Both my 1100C & 900 have 2" front & back.

After I posted I called the salesman and he said 2" I was talking to the mechanics and the three of us thought it looked like 1.5". I test drove one and drove around back to the shop to get their thoughts and feelings on them for service and what not versus a salesman's words.

I think I might make an offer tomorrow and see what happens.

I had to take a second test drive today to see how good the ac works. The first test drive a week or so ago it was cool outside and I almost ran out of diesel.

I have recently purchased a new 1100c, and have a problem with it. When i accelerate in high range the unit has no power, dealer says their is a recall and its a simple tranmission linkage adjustment, has anyone had similar experience and know of a solution ? Thx

Welcome, steve, to TBN.

I'LL let someone with a new RTV answer. However, the concept of high acceleration in high range is not, IMHO, what the RTV does with its HST transmission. My RTV will accelerate in high, but it is more of a gradual acceleration, won't kick gravel behind it. It is possible that what you are experiencing is normal. also possible there is some problem. Kinda would need to drive it to personally be able to discern the difference.

I have two RTV's both 1100's. When new, they are very stiff and slow. It will loosen up and run smoother at about 20-30 hours. HS

Thx texas john for the input. When in high range and i accelerate it just almost stops going forward, when i reduce the acceleration it picks back up again. For the oney you pay, this thing should be bullet proof. I love the unit and the cab, im taking it back to the dealer monday , and tell him to fix it or take it back.
