Looking at a new L3540 HST 4x4 with Industrial tires, 1 set of rear remotes and a LA724 FEL priced at $22,490. How does that price look?

I just took delivery on a L3540HST+ and here's how it went:
L3540HST with R4 tires, LA514 loader, 72" bucket, drawbar...$20,905
rear worklight................................................................$76
single rear remote hyd.....................................................$600
total............................................................................$21581

I hope this is of some help to you.
Good luck!

I've recently been quoted a price for a L3240 hst, R4's, LA724 loader with 66" QA bucket, loaded tires and block heater for 19,595.00, including the factory finacing (300.00) and delivery fee (500.00) from Barlow Equipment. Cash price picked up in Kentucky would be 18,795.00. I don't know what 3 hp and a remote adds to the price, but I doubt it is $3,695.00.

Good luck! Dave

KY is a long haul from CO. I thought that the LA724 was a 72" bucket. That price includes delivery.

Delivery from Ky to WI is 500.00..... pretty cheap, don't know how they do it.

I have a 72" barn door, the 72 3/4" or so bucket wouldn't cut it, 66" was my only realistic option.

Check out barlowequipment.com , they may deliver as far as you; at the very least it should give you good look at a very competetive price. Other members here have had good experiences with them.

I got the 66" HD bucket for my LA724 with QA. It's not that much smaller when moving loose material (e.g. road base, dirt, etc.) and it makes my L3240 more maneuverable in tight spaces.

BTW... You need to check the width of your rear R4s. They will almost certainly be configured at 72"+. The rims for R4s on the GL40's can be adjusted a little. The narrowest setting puts the valve stems on the outside.

Thats a lot wider than what I would have thought. Most people with the L3240 seem to go with a 5ft bush-hog which is why I figured it must be around 60". TalonDancer, if you by chance find yourself with a measure tape around your tractor, I'd be interested to know what exactly the rear width measures to.

Just talked to a buddy of mine who had a 30 hp Grand L some years ago and upgraded to the L5030 because he needed more power moving rocks. I don't think I need 50hp, but maybe the L3940 is a better option given the 4 cylinder vs 3 cylinder engine, etc. Thoughts?

Now your talking...........UPGRADES! Great

Consider the next size up... the Grand L 4240... Becuase this will allow you to go for the LA854 loader.

Now get ready for my favorite saying..

You Can Grow Into A Bigger Tractor..... Or Grow Out Of A Smaller Tractor!!

I'll measure it tomorrow to get a more exact number.

BTW I swapped out my Rhino BX66 Box Blade for a BX72 because it was obvious that the 66" box blade simply would not cover the tracks of my GL3240. IIRC the BX72 just covers my tracks. FWIW my wheels are set to the widest position for R4's (the valve stems are on the inside).
