Kubota 50 hour service change

I've said it in other post ... fluids are the lifestream of these machines. Regular maintaince, fresh fluids and filters surely are most important.

Add it up, very little cost to have clean fluids and filters.

very true but if the fluids are fine why waste the $$$$$.. The odds of a fluids causing an issue are more then winning the lottery.

Right You Are...!!......the fluids provide power transmission, lubrication and cooling internally in a very sensitive environment....by the time hyd/trans oil looks dirty, it's filthy......probably already done unseen damage....

The 4 gals of SUDT I used in my B2320 at 50 hr sevice was worth it just in peace of mind......

I try to keep in mind, that diesel service engine oils are very heavy duty and made prety well these days. Base oil technology is so far superior to just a few years ago that there is no comparison.
The Tractor Hydraulic Fluids in name brand and high quality are plenty capable of long service life without giving a machine any grief. I guess I would be concerned big time, with my tractor or machine, if I discovered a lot of shiny metal particles in the bottom of the bucket, especially big chunks of metal. Oil will sure not cure a machine that is eating it's own parts and turning them into shiny particles.
Big trucks used to get an oil change every 10,000 miles, that was over the road rigs. Now they go 25 or 30K with no problem at all, difference being the quality of oil technology improving. The Tractor Fluids have improved too. I personally don't believe that condensation is a huge problem for most folks. I can't recall ever loosening a drain plug, (and I do watch carefully), and actually seeing any signs of water, or discolored oil coming out. A small amount of water will immulsify into the oil, and change the normal black color, that should be shiny and ok, to a murky and dull look if it has water in it. I just don't see any of that in my rigs or machines when I change hyd oil or motor oil.
I just bought a new ZD331 Kubota, it has 6 hours on it. I'm not going to worry about condensation, and it better not be full of metal shavings when I drain out the fluids, or Kubota will get a visit.

Whether you drain at 50 or 400, just remember to recycle that SUDT/UDT or engine oil. Take it to your local auto parts store or some other recycling source. Please don't dump it in a hole and bury it. Ground water and soil contamination are a HUGE problem. Thanks

Or put it on your burn pile full of trees! :D

Or better yet, give it to your local hyd shop/auto repair shop that burns it in a waste oil furnace......Best green way to go......

Put the old SUDT oil in the Massey as it gets alot of moisture in it over the year and also cut the chainsaw bar oil 50/50 with it in the winter.

I have an '06 B7510, new at the time. I changed the SUDT, cleaned the screen and filter at 50 hrs., as in the manual. The screen was clogged with metal filings. Made me wonder about the manufacturing process! The fluid, which is an oil was recycled as is all my engine oil, but it was a clear and the new stuff. I also changed it at 300 hours. At that time nothing in the screen. SUDT is expensive stuff.
My thoughts are: The initial 50 hour screen cleaning was beneficial, as was changing the filter, I'm sure. For dumping the SUDT, probably a waste of $.
My new Deere, 4320 has far different change requirements, although I'll change the engine oil and filter early before winter. The HST fluid will not.
regards,
Steve
