Kubota and Kioti- Related????

Just curious, I 've noticed quite few Kioti dealerships popping up and the stuff looks just like Kubota to me - I've never done a close up look but from the road thay are hard to tell apart. Anybody know the story behind this?

We have no Kioti dealerships near me so I've never actually seen one. Obviously the colors are close, but looking at their website the styles are very close too. Seems like there are a lot of model similarities too but that's pretty much true of all brands.

I was pretty impressed with what I saw on their website.

I realize this is the Kubota forum, but is there any relationship between Kioti and Kubota other than looking alike and starting with a K? Where are Kioti's made? Who makes the engines?

No relationship between the two companies. They are made in South Korea and shipped to our country. Kioti made the first water cooled diesel engine back in 1949. They make all their own engines except for the DK 65 and that has a 3 cylinder Perkins engine. From what I've read they are the biggest manufacturer of agricultural equipment in South Korea, the company name is the Daedong Corp.

Perhaps like the red barn paint thread, some organics are more available in Asia hence the orange color?

Either they are in "Ka-hoots" with one another...OR...Kioti buys the manufacturing rights to various Kubota items! I went over a few models similiar in physical size to my B3030...while my farmer buddy was talking to sales people. ( which I might add he himself went from "green" to Kubota orange on his tractor..an L5030.....) Too many parts are identical to each other...BUT...while they look at FIRST GLANCE to be extremly close..then arent..but some items are identical..and Im sure Kubota had those items patented..or else they are crazy??

The fact Kubota and Kioti are not connected in any way has been discussed several times on this forum. Kubota sued Kioti in CA and won the suit. Someone even posted the suit and the outcome if memory serves. I thought the horse that Kubota and Kioti are connected had been ridden until it was wind broken, apparently not.

If you bother to look..I said "EITHER". I..me personally...have NO WAY of knowing what company owns what other company...DO YOU? But I can sure tell when 2 IDENTICAL PARTS...one from company A and the same mathinc part from company B are either identical..so they could easily be interchanged..OR ( see the "or".??) the one from "A" would otherwise be a patent infringement it they hadnt bought the manufacturing rights to it!!!

I could care less who sued who..or what the outcome was. My posting WAS NOT to drag up some long lost thread about the subject..it was my comments on my own personal observations of some of Kioti's hardware..plain and simple.

Pls tell what parts you think are indentical, between Kubota and
Kioti. I have owned 4 Kubotas and 3 Kiotis and do all my own
mechanical work, and I have yet to find any identical parts. I assume
that since you have a B3030, you were comparing it to a CK20?

I have seen several auctions on eBay selling a Kioti tractor that very clearly stated that their tractor was "the same thing as Kubota but cheaper". I've never seen a Kioti except in pictures and really have never heard of them except here and a few on eBay, so a person like me wouldn't know. It's especially confusing when I'm positive I've seen several auctions pop up on eBay when I was searching for Kubota. The titles generally were something like "Kioti Kubota tractor real nice" or the likes. I've never done a search for Kioti on eBay but had them pop up in Kubota searches. It's easy to see how one can be confused. From someone who does not know Kioti at all, it certainly looks like they intentionally copied the big "K", the design, and the color. Take that along with several sellers claiming that "they are the same thing", and I'm sure people are confused. It almost seems to me like some of the confusion is by design?
