Sorry, I wasn't trying to "ride a horse that was wind broken". I'm new to the forum (see under my user name) and didn't know the subject had been hashed out before. I've only made back throught the last 15 or 20 pages of old posts so far.

Just something I'd wondered about for a while and thought this was a good
source of info. Ones I have seen look amazingly like the Kubota and I didn't know if
it was a deal like the Farm Trac ( I think) building "copies" of the old Fords.

Thanks to the folks who tried to answer my question

Well Jay Welcome to the tractorbynet forums. Normally, most people do not jump on someone for asking a question! Sorry about that. With that said there certainly are more Kioti dealers popping up around the country although I can only say what I see around here in New England.

I have the other orange one (kubota) and it is true that they sued Kioti a few years back regarding patent infringements and advertising. This took place in California as I believe at the time that was the North American Corporate office location. (Who really cares)

There certainly is a difference between the two treactors and although you might find a part from one that will fit the other by no means do I believe that Kioti or Kubota make parts for the other machine. No Way!

So anyway, if you are looking / comparing tractors check out all of the direct forums for each tractor company of interest. There are several of us that will say KUBOTA ORANGE...........then there are other that will say kioti orange either way I am sure you will get good sound information on either manufacturer. Then there is that darn GREEN TRACTOR too

Pls tell what parts you think are indentical, between Kubota and
Kioti. I have owned 4 Kubotas and 3 Kiotis and do all my own
mechanical work, and I have yet to find any identical parts. I assume
that since you have a B3030, you were comparing it to a CK20?
Lets start off with the quick extendable lift arms on the 3 poitnt hitch!

Well, if you look at the auto industry this type of thing happens all the time. I even remember in the 70's Ford ran commercials for the Granada in which people were mistaking them for a Mercedes.

I think you can see it now in how the S. Korean automakers are pretty actively making cars that are very similar to Hondas and Toyotas. No actual crossover, just real similar. I think the interesting thing is that some of these Korean cars see to be pretty good stuff. I predict that they will rise in the market once they develop the reputation for quality and affordability which they are seeking. I see Kioti in the same light. If you were going to make and market small tractors in the US, who would you base your product on? Kubota of course.

That's right, same color, same style. My Kioti had to sit outside for several weeks after I bought it and most of the neighbors thought I had a Kubota. In my area it's either green or red so the orange was a novelty. One local Kioti dealer runs big half page ads every week in the local newspaper so more people are realizing what a Kioti is.

Im with ya 100%. South Korea and China both. What my tractor buying friend "noticed" ( or thought or ??) was it seems to him the hyrdaulics on a Kubota was smoother operating..etc. ( Hydraulics to me means fluid runs thru them...:)..) So he finally..*sigh*..decided on a L5030 model.

Give Korea and China both 10 years building "smaller" tractors..and the world will be a different place for sure
