Price Check Kubota B21 new price?

If you are after HP and HST and want a lighter small frame tractor the B7800 is a good unit. I suggested an L3130 because of it's mid size and high value along with it's capacities. I also believe in the HST. I don't know if this unit would be in the 15000 area? I was told by my dealer that the cost difference is less than a grand between the B7800 and the L3130? He said the frame and size is decepitve that the price would be so close. I still say- get the biggest one you can afford or you will be shopping again.

By standard transmission I assume you mean DT? I just bought an L3130 GST and really like it. I, too, was originally looking for a B7800 / B2910, but talked myself into spending the extra $$$$ and upgraded to the L-Series. No regrets so far. I traded in a B2400 HST for it. Thought I would miss the hydro when mowing, but after I got used to the GST I found I like it better.

That's a good dealer in Woodruff. My in-laws have a cabin up there, and I've had occasion to stop in and shop for parts. I've found the service desk to be very helpful even though I wasn't a tractor customer. Although, I would warn against buying anything out of his rental fleet - too many weekend warriors up there who aren't familiar with tractor operation. Those rental units can take a real beating. Just my observation...

I am a B21 owner with 1026 hrs of trouble free tractor time and have been very happy with it. The B21, L35 and L48 can all be ordered without a backhoe but you rarely see them that way and I’d bet that is why Jim got confused. The B21 is only rated at 13.5 PTO hp but I have not had a problem with a 4’ rotary mower, post hole auger or tiller. It has been to many years for me to be current on pricing. Being designed for the commercial market the Kubota TLB’s have many heavy duty extras that other Kubota’s do not but you pay a price for them. If a backhoe is not one of your primary needs I would think you may get more bang for your bucks with some of the other models.

As others said, with that much land I would take a serious look at the L series tractors. It sounds like you plan on some light logging work and the larger stance of the L series would be much better for skidding.

Gray sorry it took so long to get back, have been busy. I bought the L48 for 4 commercial projects I have. I general them and sub most everything out. Mostly will be used for plumbing trenches, rough grading, and personal assistance in moving loading ect. It is equipped with the standard loader (with the auto anti spill) and backhoe from Kubota. the bucket works fine. I also have a Woods 84 box scraper and 72 Brushbull, I think that's what it is called. I purchased a trailer for it this weekend. PJ trailer out of Texas, Gooseneck, 20' with 2' beavertail and drop down spring assisted ramps. 14,000 GRVW Not a bad unit.
What I am still looking for is a set of pallet forks, my dealer let me try some Woods but from the seat you could not see the tips of the forks, need some with more see through on the bottom portion of the frame.

I am a general contractor and teacher here in Michigan. I got my first tractor last year- L35 and it lead to this L48. I don't know what I did without it???? Years of waiting for the dirt man and bulling so much material- don't even want to think of it.

I have bradco forks and got a lot of use from them this summer. I have a bit of trouble seeing the forks but love having them. I even managed to move a lift of 5/8 osb without breaking it up. Lots of weight.

My question about the self leveling was- Is it mechanical or hydraulic in funtion? How well does it work? Mine is hydraulic. Works good.

You have a loarge trailer there. It should be possible to load some attachments as well on it for site use. We need a CDL license in Mi to run anything over 10000 LB. I don't wish to get one at this time. Also a trailer over 2500lbs has to be titled and lic. as a truck. The trailer you have will be plenty for you.

You should love the L48. It will save alot of work.

Some things I have done this summer with it.
Built a complete septic system.
Buried a water line of 150ft 6ft down.
Liffed trusses up to 2 roof systems.
Loaded roof sheathing up to roof areas.
Buried power lines.
Stumped out many areas.
Loaded 200 yds of backfill sand around a project.
Finished graded 2 house projects.
Moved many units of materials around a site.
Graded over 2 long drives.
Brush cut 2 acres of land.
Ran a water line to my sauna.
Lots more.

As I said-it has been great to have and you can do more than you think with it when you learn how to use it.

BTW- I think penokee is looking to get a B7800. Nice HP but small size. It would be good for getting around narrow woods roads and lighter loader work. It is a lot of tractor in a small package.

I am also looking at getting a front mounted hydraulic auger. Not enough to do with it but still want it. One other thing would be great- a front mounted boom pole for longer reach with trusses and roofing needs.

I still have a few questions for my dealer about the loader, the manuel implies that with the joystick straight down the loader will stay level, mine is not doing that. My loader has what feels like a mechanical anti spill, when the bucket is going up the bucket is rolled forward so the load does not come over the top on you.

You have to love the simplicity of Montana sometimes, we just went to a permanet registration system on all recreation vehicles and trailers (including semi trailers), upon title into your name they issue a permanet registration that is good for as long as you own it. The price didn't even go up 2-3% over the old yearly renewal rate.

The pallet fork issue is one I want to resolve, my last tractor was a JD410 with clip on forks and you could never line up the forks to the load due to visability. Woods and Bradco have that metal reinforcement plate on the bottom of both sides of the Brick Guard, it seems that is the area that I need to be able to look through to line up one fork. I have seen ones that have heavy vertical square tube but they are spendy.
