thanks to all. ordered the 7800 with a loader and backhoe, curtis remote valve, mechanical thumb and ati quick attach. Now all i have to do is wait (and pay for it of course)

Art I hate to take issue with your quote, "Kubota has not been one of those companies that turn out experimental stuff to allow the purchasers to be their guiena pigs!", you ever look at the track record of the BX1850? It had more problems then the F-111 when it first came out... I got rid of mine with great pleasure at about 40 hours!

Buster, we make changes for peoples different comfort levels nearly on a daily basis. Yes we did seat changes, we have done three point hitch arms. It doesn't make any difference as to the make we are selling for these changes as everyone has a different perspective as to there needs. As far as overall problems with the 1850, we don't sell but about 10 of that model a year and we haven't seen that many problems of quality control or build issues. Comfort or options I don't see as a reliability issue, only in the shop for unexpected repairs count to what I was refering.
I do hope that with aircraft it is fully tested, and I know it is to a degree beyond all except the shuttle! There is still nothing like putting them to work to find a short coming!

In the airplane world they put these things out called service bullitens and ADs when the customer or the manufacture find manufacturing faults/defects, it happens more often than the general public knows.

So Boeing will put a new airplane out and let the customer find alot of the inservice problems with it over the years of service.
