Kubota B2782 snowblower destroys its chain after every use! Help!

/ Kubota B2782 snowblower destroys its chain after every use! Help! #41
Are we talking a B2782B blower here...'cause if we are, the chain drives the FAN (impeller)...If not, my opologies
...On mine the auger is driven off the front of the impeller thru a gear box.

If that's the case then my bad, it was likely foolish of me to assume it was side chain design like most are at that size/quality.

If I was you....finally getting the sprockets to behave, You might consider to put an o-ring chain on it, to preserve those treasured sprockets. There are several grades of o-ring chain, and the toughest are about $1 per link. A motorcycle chain is about 120 links. Count the pins, the number is the same - 120 pins = 120 links. With luck your blower needs 58 links then you'll have two. Maybe you can find top-grade chain "by the link".

FYI for others that may stumble onto this thread looking to resolve their own issue.

The B2789 (3pt rear blower) auger sprocket was out of alignment with the drive and idler in my case.
Not sure if it was before or after the chain got destroyed but the alignment was way off when I went replace the #50 chain.
The drive chain stretched on once side more than the other. Nice circular bend now instead of straight line when laid flat and had jammed between the bearing and the sprocket.
None of the shear bolts broke when it happened.

There are two collars (at the bearings) on each side of the auger. Each has two Allen type set screws in them.
By loosening both collars, the auger can be moved to realign the sprockets. It may require persuasion.

Also check the teeth for damage on each of the sprockets and replace as required. Mine needed to be. I might repair the old one to have an emergency spare.
It had not bent the sprocket.

These collars were not shown on the assy diagram in the owners manual nor was there any description of the adjustment in my owners manual.

I thinking blue loctite might be a good addition to the set screws on these collars.

Thanks for the thread at least I had a few clues.
