Kubota b2920
What would be the best fit for this size of tractor and what's the average price for a good quality brush hog?

Kubota 2920---- Engine--29HP--PTO--21HP--rear lift--1356 lbs--rear lift-24 inches--1058 lbs. TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors There is a forum in regards to Kubota tractors on TBN and a forum in regards to Attachments on TBN. In regards to the size of rotary mower, I would think that a 4-footer would be appropriate. Other factors should be considered also, such as the height of the grass or growth that is to be mowed. I sincerely hope that this helps. Good Luck.:):tractor:

On the advise of my dealer, I went with a 5' Bush Hog Squeeler. I mostly cut some field type grass. Unless I am way behind on my cutting, the
B2920 handles it pretty easily. I really don't get into much actual brush cutting. If I was to choose now, I would probably take a hard look at the 54" Woods cutterl. If I was going to be attacking a lot of brush, I would probably look at a 4'. The 5' Squeeler is pretty heavy and a lot to handle for the small B.

My B2320 handles and runs a 4' medium weight Rotary mower OK in woods trails that hadn't been mowed in 6 or 7 years. Front weight is needed.

A 5 footer would probabally be your upper limits. Not so much for HP, but for the size of your tractor, that would be a lot of weight hanging pretty far back. "Tail wagging the dog" is the anology that is used a lot for something like that.:D If you do go with a 5 footer, it will probabally limit you to a lighter duty model.

If you drop it down to a 54", you can probabally get a little more robust cutter and be okay. 4' may not cover your tracks. I like a cutter to be at least as wide as my trackwidth. Do depending on your tire option and how they are set. You may want to take a measurment:thumbsup:

As for price, anywhere from $500 to $1500 new. Just depends on what brand/model you get. The $1500 cutters are built much better and will last longer. Brands like Woods, Landpride, Bushhog and the like come to mind. Closer to $500 cutters would be things like Countryline @ TSC, or KingKutter. They are a lower quality, but still a good cutter for lighter duty "homeowner" type work.

And then there is always used. And prices vary by location. Around my parts, decient older Bushhog brand cutters, and even some not-so-old KK's can be had for under $200:thumbsup: for 5' models. But the 48" and 54" used models still command a premium.

Thank you all for the great advice, I will be doing more research on what has been said on this wall.Sounds like the 54" would be best for durability and for weight not wagging so far from the tractor. It won't be just tall grass I'll be cutting small brush will be in the war path as well. As for set up on the machine I have R4 tires, will keep the FEL on while cutting and I hope that will keep the front of the tractor under control.
