Kubota B3350
Hey guys new member here and soon to be first time tractor owner.

My local dealer just got a B3350 in stock and I am hoping some of you guys can help out with a couple of questions. I was quoted $33,100 with the loader and $5795 for a 63" snow blower with a hydraulic chute rotator for a total of $38,895 I assume this is list price? I was on my way to work so I didn't start any negotiations. Is there a common % I should get off retail?

The salesman told me it would be $900 extra for a hydraulic chute deflector I have since found out (Kubota website) you can get an electric one for $600 (which he didn't tell me about) is there any reason to go with the hydraulic?

3rd function valve...What is it for? Do I need it?

I will be using it manly for snow removal at a 2 acre storage acre facility I work at.

Thanks

I went through this when I bought my front mounted snow blower. This was my thinking after reading a lot on posts and working with units. 1) I would go with the hydraulic one because the electric ones have a tendency to short out after a few years of use. If you think about the front of the blower is going to get subject to a lot or water and the hydraulic will just work better in that environment. 2) The 3rd function remote is a switch that is mounted on the loader control arm which you throw to active the chute deflector. I initially want rear remotes so I had planned to use a rear remote to run the chute deflector. The dealer who I like and trust had a policy that they only install blower with the 3rd function valve. Initially it thought they were trying to over sell me but how that I have it I can see it is the only way to go. I now also use the 3rd function valve with my brush grapple and it has worked very well. I hope this helps. Thanks John

Thanks for the info...Anybody know the list price of the B3350 with loader/quick attach? I am getting $33,100 but can't confirm as it's not up on Kubota's site yet.

I think the price I got quote was high, but back in April I got a price quote for the Kubota B3350 ($26750), LA534 Front Loader ($2970), B2336 Front Grill Guard ($197), B2356 60" Bucket ($520), and B7302 Third Function ($765) for $31,202. I believe the B2366 quick attach was another $432, so I'm not sure about your quote.

I also seem to remember that the price of the B3350 was fairly close to the L3560 (within a few thousand.) If you can afford it, I'd recommend the L60 over the B50 series.

That is not that much less than what my L4240 was.

Thanks for the info guys...I don't need a large tractor such as the L3560 looks like it's about 5K more as well, I actually prefer the small one as I may end up using it on my lawn.

I will obviously not be paying full price I just wanted a baseline to work off of. I am going to shoot for 15% off with free setup. Will update you tomorrow.

The pricing is still not available for the B3350 on Kubota site but it is for the 2650. I guess it shares the same loader with the 2650 so you may be able to get a idea on the retail price of the loader or some other options like the 3rd function.

Agreed. The B3350 is priced high compared to what you get on the entry level Grand L's. Even though the quote a got was a while back, I'm fairly certain that the price I got on the L3560 Cab was just over $2k more than what I was quoted on the B3350. After I saw how closely they were priced (and considering how much more tractor it is), it started me down the path of buying the L4760 that I have today.

Either way, the B2650 (same as the B3350 except for the engine) I looked at back in April is a really nice tractor. I think you'll really like it. Good luck!

I'm also looking to buy a B3350, including loader, backhoe w/mech thumb, 10" and 16" buckets, front mount 62" snowblower w/remote hydraulics, 3rd function valve, two back remotes valve.

All the add-on's are the same parts as for the B2650, so list price is on the build my Kubota thing. The B2650 now lists for $24275 and the B3350 is $28945 (those extra ponies are pricey little beasts!).

For the whole package, the dealer I'm working with is discounting the total by 11.2%. I have read here that some dealer's are discounting other models by as much as 15%. BTW, my dealer didn't use a simple percentage to arrive at that 11.2%, but rather a convoluted, add labor, subtract a fixed discount, etc. etc. I simply subtracted final price (less sales tax) from the full list, then divided that difference (discount from list) by the full list to get a simple percentage discount. This is for a cash purchase.

I have talked with some dealers who will discount only a couple of thousand off full list, others are more willing to negotiate. Since I have not signed on the line, I'd sure be interested in hearing about other "deals".

Need some quick help here

I am being told that there is only one option for the chute deflector, it's $597, electrically actuated and cannot be controlled by the 3rd function valve. But online (and on my first quote) I see a hydraulic one for $902? Is a hydraulic one available or not? Can I use the 3rd valve to control either one?

Thanks

edit: this is for a snowblower for those that don't know

11.2% is the same discount as a JD dealership that I was working with offered, from the research I have done I feel 15% is fair. I am going to push for 15% with free setup ($900 at my Kubota dealer).

As I'm sure John Thomas will say, get a quote from Barlow's. You'll know what kind of deal you are getting locally and have a very attractive price if you decide to buy from them and have it shipped to you. Otherwise, if nothing else, you could use it as a guide while you try to negotiate with your local dealer.

I'm pretty sure that hydraulic deflection is available for both tractors on the front mount snowblower.

It looks to me like there's a sort of overlap going on with "Build my Kubota". You can order the front loader with 3rd function. When selecting the hydraulic chute rotation, the pricing is high enough that it looks like you are paying for the front 3rd function valve all over again!

I initially was not going to order the deflection kit, as I made my own on my current B2750D blower, using an $80 dollar electric linear actuator (eBay) and a power window motor for rotation. Now having second thoughts and will probably go all hydraulic (assuming I'm not paying for 3rd function twice!).

I'm not sure what the mix up is. When you go to "build my Kubota" for the B2650, both electric and hydraulic deflection (and rotation) are options. But, when I talked to the dealer, he thought only electric was available for deflection . . . though I'd guess he's wrong on that.

In any case, if you are (edit from "is" :) too much time on Oakland PD) purchasing the front loader 3rd function, which adds the control buttons on the loader control stick, then it would be easy enough, and not all that expensive, to add a small hydraulic cylinder and hoses for deflection. I'd use a 1" or smaller bore and maybe a 3 or 4 inch stroke. When laying out the attach points the geometry can be adjusted so the deflector stops at both ends of it's travel with no stress.

Same issue here I thought the salesman was wrong as well. But, he said he called his kubota rep and there is only one option (electric) and it will add a switch near the steering wheel.

If your dealer is correct . . . and I'll double check with mine, then I think the best approach for me will be to skip the deflector option and use the 3rd function valve (and control on the stick) to operate an after market cylinder for deflection. Cost for the cylinder should be around $50 or 60, plus hoses. I have a hobby machine shop and TIG welder, so easy and doable.

BTW, my dealer sharpened the pencil and arrived at about a 13% discount over list along with free set up and delivery. I think I'll go with it. He said everything is in stock or available in distribution. So I should have the tractor in 3 to 4 weeks. Maybe. I hope.

Yes that sounds like it would be the best option for you. Please double check soon if possible as I may be finalizing my order in a few hours. Thanks:)

I just sent over my offer of 15% off with free setup. Nevada has no sales tax though right? I am going to be hit with 6%

Snowblower deflector update:

Just got off the phone with dealer. He said both the 3rd function and the hydraulic deflector are separate items and are not duplicating or using the same parts.

For the hydraulic deflector option, there's a toggle switch on the loader joystick that switches the side to side joystick function from chute rotation over to deflector angle (i.e. they are both using the same stick movement and valves and there is a hydraulic solenoid that switches the function out front.

This seems sort of silly to me. Better would have been to use the 3rd function valve for the deflector, being as that is also mounted to the joystick and then means that all three blower functions are completely discreet. I plan to order mine with "none" for deflector control. I'll install a small cylinder for deflection and be a happy camper.
