Kubota B5100 Resto

Picked up a little Kubota B5100E tractor to restore for a winter project. Tractor came with the mid mount mower and a Kubota snowblower converted to fit front of tractor. Tractor has to be one of the rustiest little tractors I have found. Plan is to strip it as far as practical and sandblast and paint so it looks like new, would like to put tri ribs on front and ags on back but will have to wait to check on availability and price

Looks like a machine which saw lots of salt from doing snow removal.

started some tear down and sand blasting. Not sure what they coated the inside of the fenders with but sandblaster doesn't like it

Got a few parts sandblasted and primed, not sure how many of the dents are going to get removed

We love our B5100D. I bought the B2320 to replace it, but The Plant Manager kicked that plan to the curb. For a 12 HP machine, that thing pulls like crazy. Our front PTO is SNAFU - the spline is shot, so I have to fab something together to get that back in service. The front PTO is very hard to find, so be sure to take good care of yours! Grease the spline, so the teeth don't wear out as ours did. LAter models had a Zerk; ours didn't and from the looks of it, the previous owner never greased it. That'll be a real sweet looking machine when you get her all cleaned up!

thanks Baby Grand, I got a bit of a sweet spot for the little tractors also, this is my 2nd B5100E, had 1 B5100D and also a B6000. Tractors always amaze me what they will do for their size. Not sure if I'm going to even put pto back on it, got a friend who is interested in the mower set up so it might be sold

I do too! Keep us posted. It reminds me a bit of my very first "real" tractor, a very used Kubota B9200 with worn out ag tires.

I don't really know but figured since there isn't much to the rebuild and the tractor is already tore down it would be a convenient time to do it.
