Thanks Mike.
I guess my tractor Is a combo of a b7100 and a b6200d
Here is a list of parts I think are from the B6200D

1. engine (including all accessory's i.e. alternator, fan, radiator, etc...)
2. hood
3. 4x4 system (front axle, hubs, 4wd drive line..etc...)
4. front half of frame starting at the end of the bellhousing and going to the very front of the tractor

so basically it is the whole front end of a B6200D..I..guess that's ok...

I haven't had the time to contact the dealer I bough the tractor from to try to get connected with the original owner, so I guess we'll see how that goes

maybe they had a B7100 2WD and converted it to 4WD with B6200 parts tractor?

Yeah That's what it must be, because the sticker on the left of the transmission has "B7100" written on it not "B7100D" so it was originally a 2wd tractor

If you dont mind me asking Jon, did you buy it as a restoration project or just to use as a working machine?

I've seen some B7100's in worse shape but were still putting in a good hard days work without complaining. These machines are tough little critters.

I'm a bit curious about Blagadan's question too. With a bit of metal work I'm sure you can make that machine look nice. My only concern is that the gearing on the front axle is compatible.

I bought this as a working machine and a restroation project.
I am only 15 so natrally my buget is a bit limited so this was the best tractor that I could find and afford.
When I bought the tractor It did not run at all and I pulled the injector lines and found that no fuel was coming out so I pulled the injector pump apart and found that the rack was frozen solid with rust infact the whole injecter pump was rusted solid so reluctant to spend sevral hundered at a shop to get the injector pump rebuilt I did it my self with the help of my younger brother and and some tips from my dad (he wanted me to take it into a shop to get rebuilt) but I managed to get it it running and working again! After a lot of cleaning and aligning it so all the cylnders got a equal amount of fuel and the throttle did not get stuck.

Oh and I am very concerned that the 4wd is synced properly.

The engine runs very good but there is still loads of work to make the tractor in a good condition.

Thanks everyone for there help, Jon

Excellent, this will be a great project for you. I started to learn how mechanical things worked by taking apart lawn mower motors and anything else I could get my hands on. I would have been psyched to have a real tractor as a kid. Being mechanically able is a huge plus in life and can save you tons of money and headaches. Good luck with this and feel free to post anything needed, this site is great for info.

BTW, hopefully the 4wd will be a non issue, you'll find out as soon as you start driving it around. Just watch the front tires for sliding around.

Way to go! You are off to an excellent start.

Regarding four wheel drive ratio; this link may help TractorSmart home page > INFO > tire size matching for 4WD tractors.

But first you need to determine your gear ratio rear to front.
A fairly easy way to do this is jack up one side of the tractor so that the rear and front tires on one side are free to rotate. While in 4WD and the transmission in neutral, carefully rotate the rear wheel exactly one complete turn and measure exactly how far the front wheel rotates (hopefully it should be about one and one half turns, but try to be fairly precise) (On my B7100, the ratio is about 1.46 as close as I can measure.) With the number you come up with, you should be able to work the formula.

I'm pretty sure you have a B6200 front axle because the older gear jammer B7100's had four lug bolt hubs, while yours are six bolt. This makes it pretty important to do your homework.

Sherweld

Hi,

I recognize this is an ancient thread, but life is made up of long shots, so here is mine...

What did you ever do with the hood from this? Did you use it? If not, do you still have it?

I am looking for a B6200 hood, and not having much luck. IF you still have it, and didn't use it, I would like to see what we could work out.

Thanks,
Jim
