I am trying to decide between the B7610 or the B7800. I have owned a B1750 for 14 years and am trading it in. The B7610 basically is the replacement for the B1750 with 24 hp vs. my old 20 hp. I like the greater power of the B7800, but am concerned that it will not maneuver in tight quarters as well as the B7610, which is 10" shorter than my B1750. The B7800 is about the same length, but 4" wider. The loader capacity on the 7800 does not appear to be greater than 150 lb more than the 7610, but the tractor is 400# heavier with 30hp, which might be an advantage. Turning radius appears to be about the same as my old tractor, for both of them. Any opinions on what would be the best choice? I maintain about 14 acres, with 6 acres woods, 3 acres pasture, 2 horses, 800 ft. winter driveway plowing, trail cutting with rotary cutter, grade & plow with a 60" rear blade, spray with a 50 gal. sprayer. The only negative comments I have found on the 7800 is that it has weak headlights. Greater cost of course, but I am hesitant to stay at the same size as my old one and tempted by bigger and more powerful. This may be the wrong reason to be influenced by however. I would appreciate any insights and personal exerience with these tractors. Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The only thing I would recommend to you is that you buy the one you like best. But if it were me, I'd definitely go with the B7800, unless the price difference forced me to change my mind. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've got the 7800 , never noticed and turning issues. Other than if i turn sharply it tears up the grass. Nice machine. Which one costs more? What will you be doing in the woods?

I cut the trails in the woods with the rotary cutter, clear brush, haul firewood, pull leaning dead trees down with a chain, etc. I can understand the tearing up the grass - I have ag tires on my old tractor. Thanks for your input.

I have a B2410, the deluxe version of the B7610. I don't think its any more manuverable than the B7800. I wanted to keep weight down, but there are times I regret not moving up to the 7800/2910. If I remember correctly on the 7800 loader you can get a quick attach type connection to swap buckets/forks. I wish I'd done that.

(I know I can add a system from ATI, but its $1000 with forks)

I guess this is a 7610 owner saying buy the 7800.

I have had a B7500 for three years and wish I had a B2910 or B3030. After 14yrs you need to treat yourself to more power. I know I will when I can financially do it.

I bought a 7800 over the 2910 two years ago and have been more than satisfied. I've moved well over 300 yards of fill dirt with the FEL, leveled abou 1.5 acres, built several rock retaining walls and cleared a lot of snow with it.

Haven't wished for a larger or better machine yet.

i just got my b7800 a few weeks ago - the machine is impressive. i am presently using it for mostly dirt work - grading, digging out tree stumps (with bh) and now building a practice motocross track. i have the wheels loaded and think that helps greatly with stability and putting the power to the fel. only drawback is that it will compress the ground where run over numerous times.

The headlights can easily be fixed. For $2.99 a piece I went and got Blazer 50watt incandesent bulbs for the front of my tractor. They don't melt the lens on the tractor and put off all kinds of light.

Found that out right here on TBN. Never even knew they existed.

tnmx,

Did you ever try the tiller for making the your mx track? How did it work? Tell me what attachments and techniques you're using and what works best.

Thanks!

Free advice normally costs the one that takes it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, but here's mine. I had a b7500, fel & bh with turf tires. I now have the b7800, fel & bh with R4s. I wouldn't throw rocks at the b7500, but there is a real difference in what the extra weight and power will do. I know the B7500 is a little smaller horse power than the B7610 but same frame. In my opinion, the 78 is well worth the difference, even if you have to streach the payments. I only had 54 hours on the 75 and about 12 on the 78. I would also suggest anyone getting a fel get a toothbar.

I'd look for one of these guys trading off their low hour B7500 and go for a good deal. I have 30 acres and use the B7500 for the jobs you mentioned, except my driveway is longer. I have no complaints.

If the tractor you have is more than enough to do the chores you have for it what's the sense in going bigger?
Looks more like and emotional ego trip than a practical need to me.

I have a B7800 and am continually amazed at what the thing can handle in terms of implements, because of the 30Hp motor. If you have over 5 acres get the B7800. You can upgrade to larger implements which will save you time.

I recently purchased the B7610, but my situation is different from yours. I still have my old tractor that's twice the HP and wt. After 14 yrs I'm sure you know what you need/want to accomplish, and have a pretty good idea that both these tractors are capable. Now comes the hard part, which one do you really want and how to convince Mrs. DHBecker.
