Check back and let us know whether all is good or not after you diddle with the valve
Interesting ... good to know
I'd assume that you've also seen it on B2910's as well, since they are the same powerplant/transmission/etc ?
I did in fact close the control valve below the seat. Huh, I dropped it off by the dealer this AM to have them look at it. I will stop by before they open and try the knob to see if that fixes it. It seems to hiss a bit when the steering gets hard . This maybe a relief valve I am hearing blowing off to soon,
Makes senseSome...
Was wondering about that ... assumed that it might be the case, given that the 3PH seems to be a s/a cylinder ...All that valve does is reduce the speed of the 3 point drop. It does not effect the raise function.
Good to hear :thumbsup:Ok so the 3point is fine, I was able to lift a 1500lb quack digger of my grandfathers without a problem.
Not at all surprising I guess ... I just checked the hydraulic pressure on my B2910 recently and found it low by 200 psi ...As far as the steering, the dealer upped the pressure by 200lbs. It was a little on the low side.
What did the dealer say about that ?It helped a bit but did not solve the problem entirely.
Not much I'm afraid ...Any other cheap ideas I can try.
You're quite welcome. Thanks everyone for your help!!
My unit tends to run pretty cool, if one is judging by the coolant temp gauge. The fluid I drained out was normal smelling. It looked fine. As far as my basis for assuming it was hot was simply I could smell hot hydraulic fluid as I was running it. I would get strong whiffs of it as I would drive. I am a heavy equipment operator by trade and have got my fair share of excavators, dozers, skidders, etc hot. Along with getting them hot is the smell of hydraulic fluid venting when hot. Any of the machines that I have got to hot in the past, the one red flag was the smell of hydraulic oil. Then of course keeping an eye on the gauges, the smell almost always in my experience corresponded with the temp climbing.
Interesting. Also the hydraulic fill plug was popped out an not seated with the o-ring. Vent plugged?
