Thank you for the heads up. The dealer is going through it and will deliver it this week, but I'm going to mention that to them just in case. I'll be putting up pictures when it shows up here, I promise. Been getting the 316 ready for sale locally and our 990 is gonna be a jealous with orange paint in the shop!:laughing:

Yeah, be sure the HST fan is intact, you have to remove the MMM to get a good look at it.

You are 100 hours away from a full service including HST filter, fluid etc., so you might want to see if he will give you a good deal on the parts etc.; may be too late, but worth thinking about.

They are totally going through it. I gotta tell you, going from that old John Deere with the twin cylinder gas engine in two wheel drive, to the BX is a really big step up.

Just wondering if there are any other BX 2200 owners on board. Do you like your BX and what things should I be mindful of as a new owner of one myself, in terms of preventitive maintenance on things that are problem areas for these tractors. Are they a discontinued model that might be hard to get parts for? Thanks for any input.

Parts availability? Well I just traded in a 1983 B6200 and didn't have any problems getting parts.

What did you trade it in on? I am liking my BX more and more guys. I really actually hate selling the Deere, but even with it gone, we still have the big Deere in the shop.l

You'll love the TRACTOR that will also mow. Naver had any mechanical problems with mine.
About 9 years ago I bought my first Lifetime mower with an expensive wheelbarrow on the front and a 22HP diesel engine, a Kubota BX2200 MMM FEL from Barlows Tractor Dealer in Somerset, Ky.
Couldn't understand why they were so much more expensive than a 20 something HP gas Craftsman mower but figured there had to be some reason and I was going to only buy the one to last me till I died.
I kept my MMM on it all the time so never worried about the fan and didn't even know about the fan. I actually got it hung up one time up on a pile of downed trees and brush by coming up on the pile from the uphill side trying to push the brush into a smaller taller pile. The little sucker was unbelievable with what all it would do with that high priced wheelbarrow on the front. Couldn't get it off the pile because of the MMM and had to have a guy doing dozer work for me pull it off the pile. Guess the MMM staying on all the time had it's good and bad points.
As I continued to tackle bigger jobs on my hillside, gullied, rocky, treed property I discovered I needed more ground clearance and traded the BX to a B and that started a trend for me of visiting Barlows often and leaving owning a different Kubota or an additional Kubota but it all STARTED with the BX2200.:thumbsup:

Heck, try a jump from an JD STX38! I could pick up the rear end of that little go cart with my bare hands! A 425 is huge compared to that thing. And I skipped the 2200 to the 2230.
