This is probably the tie breaker. You know for sure where you are now. You know where you MAY be in the future, but you are not there yet.
The BX23 is a fine small tractor. Jim is right, if you would trade it in later, or sell it by yourself, you probably won't lose too much.
Buying to match what land you have at the moment is probably very good advice...
