Kubota BX232 - Major leak after adding a gallon of hydraulic fluid

For future reference for myself and any readers in this stituation - of the two pictures I posted, where exactly would you have put adhesive?
For example on the picture where the seal and bearing are exposed, would you have put a thin layer of adhesive acting like chalk around the
rubber edge before you push the metal cover end piece or do you put enough one where it glues both the rubber and metal piece?
I ask because of the metal cap piece is glued, it would seem to create a problem. My guess is around the rubber seal where it meets the metal but
thought others may want clarification as well. Thanks for the tip on checking the fluid when machine has been running for a bit.

Any adhesive would need to be applied to the metal flange of the seal were it meets the outer end of the rear end axle housing, I certainly would not use locktite to bond it most of those products would secure it to well. All you need to do is keep the seal from popping out again, also that is a simple repair if you make it to hard to remove and overfill again and over pressure the housing where will it release the next time? a harder point to repair.

Just for reference, I always take a strip of emory cloth and clean up the axle shaft before messing with the seal. Any dirt or grime or burrs can nick the seal and make it leak a little. Yours didn't look to bad, maybe just rusty.

I applied adhesive sealant where the metal cap end piece meets the axle housing, Then push home. There appears to be nothing to hold this seal in if to much pressure.
