Kubota BX232 - Major leak after adding a gallon of hydraulic fluid

What bothers me in the pic is what is above the axle. I'm not trying to cause a panic but it almost looks like a broken part. Maybe I'm just looking at the pic wrong??
I see what you are talking about, but kind of doubt it. Any piece that broke off there would have to extend out further into the rim than the axle.

Usually the BX trans vent is a little red plastic cap with a hole in it.

More and more it sounds like the transmission case was overfilled to the point that venting was no longer possible and the incompressible fluid started shooting seals out. Let's hope it's only the axle seals!!

I'll bet that's tiny keyboard for "vent was clear". Vents are usually rubber hose that looks like a question mark. They hide on top of the transmission somewhere, often under the seat. On my L4060 it's at the back above the 3 point & if memory serves part of my filler cap. It was seperate from the cap on my L3200, I vaguely remember it being under the seat there.
Yup, tiny keyboard/auto correct

Can anyone describe for me how to knock back into place the metal housing that was pushed out that has the left rear axel seal behind it?

Can I take a metal 1 inch or 3/4 inch socket for example and repeatedly tap with a hammer at different areas of this metal housing and it will evenutally
fall back into place? The dealer is supposed to pick up BX23 next week and I don't know how long it will take them to fix and return the tractor and I only
have about 1 week of warm enough weather to work so my concern is when it is returned the season is over. I took off, had a cylinder repaired then I reinstalled it.
Would you say removing the tire and tapping in the seal is an easier or harder job when compared to the cylinder?

Can I use the BH legs to raise the rear tires off the ground to get the left tire off or will this cause pressure and
prevent me from properly tapping in the seal?

Thanks everyone.

If all your fluid leaked out the axle seal I would not start the tractor up to put the backhoe stabilizer down as you probably do not have enough fluid in the system.

You can go to Messicks and look at the parts breakdown.

Use a jack underneath the rear hitch plate and remove the wheel .

The seal is inside the round metal ring it is light metal and can be bent or warped if not driven in carefully.

You have the seal on the outer most part of the axle then the internal snap ring that keeps bearing into the trans case, the bearing and then the external clip that holds the axle in behind the bearing.

You should be able to slide a wrench over the axle and be able to tap the seal back in just make sure it goes in square and goes in evenly. Refill the oil to the top of the dipstick and should be able to run. Keep an eye on the seal and if is not leaking you the overfilling may of just been the reason the seal pop out.

Picked up a new gallon of Kubota hydaulic fluid, drove an hour plus with jack, tools and could not get rear tire lug bolts off.
Just had new tubes and fluid put in this summer so was surprised they were so tight.
The BX23 is on a vacant lot I'm clearing and I would need to bring my Honda generator and power wrench to get lugs off.
I figured this is getting crazy and decided will let dealer pick up next week as scheduled and let them go through the tractor.
I'll let everyone know the end result. Any idea how much time to replace a left rear seal? Didn't look to complicated and can't imagine
it would take more than an hour or two if someone knows what they are doing.

On my BX 2350 same thing happened and I removed tire wiped off surface and applied adhesive sealant to edge of seal and pushed back in. You may not need to remove tire? Mine has held for over 1000 hrs.

AM122 - Can I ask what type of adhesive sealant you used? One I found is called Seal All. Not to be too paranoid but what troubles me is when the dealer
picks up my tractor, how do I know they don't just tuck in the current seal and say the took shaft all apart and put a new seal in?
That is why I have been turning to TBN for 12 years.
