Kubota BX24 Injector pump problem

Max,

if I have fuel going to the injector while cranking, what king of electric problem would prevent the engine from firing?

Thanks

air ...you may still have air in the injection system preventing a start.

it is possible that it is a separate problem (from your original problem) and when you start to remove lines air can get in. when you bleed the system there may still be air in the injectors or other places depending what you had off even though the lines are spitting fuel. when you reconnect the lines the air compresses and expands but doesn't necessarily get pushed out. You may need to bleed more or crank more. the best method for bleeding is to crack the lines while cranking and close them when there steady fuel coming out.

Thanks,

Would have been nice to get some help but I think that I am going to take the injector pump to be tested..

Tried everything, checked everything.

Fred,
Not real familiar with the injectors on these little diesels but can you remove one of them from the engine? Reroute the supply line so that you can have the injector spray into a mason jar. What dad and I used to do when when had diesel injector questions. This shows you how well the injector is spraying the fuel in a contained environment. No spray then remove the injector from the line and just point the line into the jar. Now do you get fuel flow. If yes try connecting the injector again. Air locks do strange things.

Another check. Can you put a gauge in the fuel inlet line from the electric lift pump. Not sure what pressure these run at but would 5 - 10 PSI since the hose is low pressure hose. Do you see pressure in this line while cranking the engine. No fuel in = no fuel out.

Not to say it doesn't happen but injector pumps don't usually just quit, start and quit again.

good luck

Its possible you have problems with your injector pump, but I've just never heard of this being a problem on BX's. Are you sure the PTO, seat, or some other kind of saftey switch isn't the problem? Do you hear the little lift pump in the back clicking when you turn the key on?

Hence the reason for my first post--- I asked if he observed the solenoid plunger moving or not when it shut off.

I agree, I also think he is messing with something that should have been one of the last things to mess with. As far as I know, the BX's are self bleeding and don't reguire the cracking of any lines.
