I just did my spring re-mounting of the 60" cutting deck, something I only do once a year, and therefore kind of hard to get good at. This is of course the drive over deck, and in the ads they show it as being effortless, but it never is. I have two questions for the group.
1. Whenever I drive over the deck, that goes well, but then it never seems to want to latch properly. You're supposed to simply drive towards the deck, but unless it's on the grass, it just slides. On the grass, one side seems to catch, but the other is always a little off, and I have to get off and man-handle the thing until it catches. This is not the way it's supposed to be, and I'm wondering if others run into the same thing but have solved it.
2. Winter deck storage: my shed doesn't have sufficient room to store the plow and the deck stored flat, so I have to stand the deck up against the wall. Since I'm moving the disconnected deck with a sling, suspended from the bucket, it's always a little tricky to get it up against the wall and tied in place so it doesn't come right down again. Does anybody else have the same kind of deck storage issue and do you have any tips for making it easier? Thanks!
