Kubota Dealer Satisfaction

I'd like to know why the mechanic was looking at the BX loader manual in the first place. Was this the first loader he ever put on a BX and needed to know where a bolt went or whether it mounted on the front or the back. I never use the little manual to put things together, especially not things as simple as a loader. As I recall, loaders from Kubota are pretty much assempled anyway. Rat....

Torque specs on the loader frame bolts, etc. Too many to remember by rote, as every model is different, and most loaders have many different bolts that each have their own torque specs. I suppose it's a good thing there are prints on em...that way you know they cared enough to look....

Not exactly a Kubota dealer but my dealer had "broken in" the manuals for my 4300 also. It doesn’t really bother me since I would have gotten them dirty soon anyway. They appeared to be very thorough in their assembly and pre-delivery work. I checked every nut and bolt and fluid level on my tractor as soon as they unloaded it, and was unable to find any problems. They even had the mower deck adjusted to just the right height./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Seems they put the manuals to good use./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

PS: There was a blank inspection sheet included with my manuals also.

I assume the tractor comes without the loader installed from Kubota, and yes it was recently after the model was first introduced.

And KubMech, yes I get my hands dirty also, but I don't work on something dirty (old used just from the mud tractor) and then go work on something else without cleaning (like a brand new tractor).

I was taught that you respect others equipment as if it was your own, and if you have no respect for your own stuff then you still take of others equipment. I know your note was kind of tongue in cheek, but I bet you wouldn't open someone's hood with greasy hands.

When using the manuals I usually have the wife make a couple copies of the pertinent pages, easier then trying to hold the manual open if it's not a 3-ring binder type, or have her or the kids turn the pages. Also is nice to have someone read it to you if you are under the car/tractor whatever.

I've been to a couple of car dealer svc department's that make me look bad on my best day! One even had a WHITE floor! Of course they've probably got a couple of shop kids running around, a luxury we tractor bums can't afford!

There's a reason for that. I considered painting my shop floor white, so I could find the little parts that I drop and sometimes lose!/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

For the most part my comments were intended to have a little fun with rogue (I think). I geuss there was some frustration to it though. Salesman and cust's can be a little demanding some times, well pretty much most of the time. A cust. comes in on thursday to buy a tractor, and "he wants it by saturday or he's going to go buy a John Deere" (top five favorite line) So stop working on the tractor the guy's been waiting 4 weeks for a part to finish it (yes Kubota parts are still out of control, in fact it's getting worse) and build this B2410. Oh by the way it's getting a FEL (no they don't come pretty much assembled) A backhoe (comes less assembled than the loader) A mid mount mower (mounts and linkage, discharge chute, gauge wheels, brackets that bolt on to the deck all packed in an easy to open crate, but for the sake of a few inches in shipping not installed to the mower) Calcium the rears, install a remote hydraulic kit, do the check sheets on the tractor and implements (implements have a seperate inspection sheet) Touch up the shipping and assembly "bruises" make sure the backhoe comes on and off easy, make sure the loader comes on and off easy, wash and wax, leave grease dripping off of every fitting (so cust. has no doubt it was greased) Feild 3-4 phone calls from the guy who's been waiting for his part, straighten a tie rod for a guy who can't get the part for 2 weeks (and doesn't want to pay the "expidite from Japan" charge), sit on the phone with a couple of guys who can't seem to read their owners manuals, walk back out in the shop to finish the new tractor set up friday afternoon to find that the tractor is'nt where you left it because the salesman thought it looked "done enough to deliver". Feild phone call (transferred from sales) on monday morning from irate new B2410 owner because his tractor wasn't set up properly prior to delivery, call road guy to have him swing by around dinner time to fix problems (now on shop cost instead of sales cost) Pick up other line (also transferred from sales) to explain to the guy who hasn't mowed in 4 weeks why HE didn't get his tractor on saturday like the salesman he talked to on wednsday said he would. Walk back out in the shop to be greeted by tierod guy wandering why warranty wont pay for his tierod and shipping. Wonder to self if warranty will pay for the dent in the fender of the shop truck from tie rod guy getting "descriptive" with tierod in hand.
Go back in office and be "helpfull and understanding"to gentleman on phone who didn't get to that page in the owners manual yet.

See it's great to have discussions like these evenwhen some people get pissed. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Well you get to read everyones views and actions. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif You see I find myself when reading these forums thinking the same way as the author of the note and do get testy along with him if he was feelign that way. BUT wait then I read the follow ups explaining further and oops maybe I shouldn't of thought that or replied without knowing fully what the heck I (I) was talking about. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Oh well I think everyone is big enough to get over whatever was or will be stated for others in this site. Just an observation on my part!

I hope I didn't come off sounding upset. I am not. I feel like I had a very pleasant buying experience. I just dont think they went over the thing very well. ...and a hat would have been nice. The way I see it, if I would have paid the going rate, I would press the issue. I paid WAY under the going rate, so I dont mind having to check a few things myself. I think maybe they weren't to familiar with the ZD21. This is what you have to face when you buy a new model. (something I don't believe in doing, but I fell in love with this thing)
Kubmech, have you messed with these ZDs very much?

Sorry Boner the grill was calling, Any way on the seat. went to take a look at the ZT's today and geuss what? Sold out. I geuss that's a good thing. I did have a BX with a similar seat problem (don't know for sure if it's the same as the ZT). When you were sitting on the seat niether side would latch, but when you were off the seat it would latch. Ended up taking the slides apart and opening up the holes for the latches some as well as a little tweaking on the latch itself. As far as having to work on one, I think one of the guys in the shop replaced a fuel level sender on one (what a suprise).
But that's about it. So, that's good news too..............
