No...It did not mean closed as in after business hours...It was CLOSED as no longer in business.

This was confirmed by the gentleman from Messicks, who actually bought or acquired to of those businesses. They are now operated as a part of Messicks chain of dealerships.

Give me a little credit Travis. I can tell the difference between after hours and no longer in business under the company name. My search turned up 3 or 4 dealerships when I did the search out of a total of about maybe 10 dealers....Hope that clarifies.

I am new to this site I am in the market for either an L3901DT or the L3800DT let me share my shopping experience. I work for a marine/atv dealership and our policy is that we take care of those who take care of us meaning if you purchased from us we move you ahead of those who purchased elsewhere.
With that in mind I have property in the a different part if my state that I need a tractor for I went to the closest local dealership to that location talked to the salesman about my desire to do business with the local guy because when I needed something that is where I would go to get it and wanted that relationship. He quoted me straight up retail on tractor and bush hog.
Shopped his price found a dealer closer to home that was 2k cheaper for the same equipment apples to apples. Went back to local dealer got the difference down to 1300.00. The gave the the story of the cheaper unit was old stock and the dealer had a lower wholesale cost in the unit. Had in writing quotes from cheaper dealer no just verbal quote. Went to the next local dealer. He would not even deal with me.
So now what do you do? Local guy won't deal with you on same tractor oh by the way he was even cheaper on same bus hog 200.00.
This is the case of a buyer trying to buy local but come on that 1300 cover most of the cost of the bush hog.

Didn't intend any disrespect, Sir - I've been taken off-guard by the same thing, and figured that it was a question worth asking.

Not a problem Travis...Like you, I wondered what do they mean by CLOSED. That's also one of the reasons I posted the question. I mean people don't just decide to close their business, unless there is some extenuating reason or circumstance. However, the search didn't offer any insight.

Westminster is a pretty area. I'm not far from you. Just straight up 83 or 15.
Take care,
John

I dont care if I buy from a large or small dealer, my main criteria is price, service and attitude of the person/place selling something to me. Large or small places dont matter to me because they're are all staffed by humans that need to eat.

I think everyone is moving to Texas. New neighborhoods going up all the time and

A NEW Kubota dealership has opened up on 4715 Hwy 71 E
Del Valle, TX outside Austin toward Bastrop.
They have a large sea of new orange equipment.

My wife won't let us move to Texas. She lived in Killeen as a kid.

Kubota dealer that is in my area (York, SC) is a great guy. He lets you sit in his office and tells you stories about times gone by. He is honest to a fault. I will certainly do business with Comer Equipment for that reason alone.

At least one has closed near me but it's because they were bought out by another Kubota dealer that bought 3 or 4 in the area. They decided to close one that was probably cutting into the business of their other dealers.
