Fallingrock:

You have been quite since initiating this post with very little detail. Please elaborate on the circumstanses. Let us know what you were doing, how it happened, why you did not notice the fluid drain, splashing, smell, rattles etc...

Perhaps we can learn something from this.

Thanks
Chris

I have an MX5000 and also a digital camera. I will take some pictures of the area he is talking about and post them next week. I have run over and hogged "2 saplings with mine and not had a problem. I asked him for more details as did others. His post is starting to sound kind of bogus. Did get a flat this week though on the left front tire, a piece of glass about the size of a pencil lead. Go figure.

Hey Mike, that would be great. Let us know if a "twig" could in fact pull this thing off. If it can, fallingrock may in deed have a case. I was hoping someone with a MX 5000 would do this for us. Rat...

Could be bogus… but then again not so sure… maybe now He's more embarrassed than anything else… /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you are driving forward “over” the brush, while brush hogging… and then you have to stop because something is in your way…like a Big Tree/trees/hidden creek/ditch/obstacle /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, then you start to backup (not good) with the brush and bent-over saplings under your tractor, they spring back up and start (getting even /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) ripping your underneath wiring/fuel lines/hydraulic lines/ coolant hoses/engine connections/clutch/brake rods/etc. or whatever it can grab… it happens real quick… and guess what?, most of the time it’s too late by the time you discover what has happened…

The point is…this- brush and saplings are tougher than most people will give credit for… just Don’t Back Up with this debris underneath your tractor…

JOHN; agree with u on the "MABEY BEING EMBARESSED" but if he is reading the follow up post, he should understand that there is nothing to be embarassed about.although i have never done anything to embaress myself /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif well mabey a few times /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif i sure would like to know what the outcome is /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If he's embarrised.. then he needs to go read the safety section... I know a few of us have posted our 'oopses' in there.. mine just last week... ( how do you drive a tractor off the front of a 16' flatbed?--just ask.. I can give you dEtAiLeD instructions.. )

As another thought.. maybee his wife banned him from the computer after he has to pay 5g's to get his brand new tractor fixed... or maybee he is spending his time arguing with kubota... either way... would be nice to know what the end story is.. or if it is just a story...

Or he posted it and went on Easter vacation to forget about his troubles.... If no reply by end of next week, well then maybe not.

JMIII,
I can second that. Last summer I backed over roots I was raking and ripped my rubber hydraulic return line off (grabbed the clamp that was facing slightly down), didn't realize till TPH quit working. Thats when I noticed the big puddle of oil under my tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I agree the poster is just instigating a riot, and we've taken the bait. Time to walk away

It kind of reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago. It was about this Indian boy named Falling Rock. As a boy he left his family and was never seen again. But they think he is in the hills some place and that is why you see the signs along the road now days saying "Watch for Fallling Rock" We are still looking for him I guess.
