Kubota engines

No offense, I was just referring to what a Kubota salesman told me.

RaT:

I checked out the website for Kubota engines last night and it's pretty impressive. My "poop" buddy has a computer and an internet connection too. I'm going to give him the site address along with the underwear today.

I kinda thought that Kubota did build their engines in-house. After all, I see their engines in everything from de-watering pumps to stationary gen sets.

Kubota lawn tractors use Kohler and Kawasaki gas engines that are relabeled with a big "Kubota" sticker. Mine has a 15 hp Kohler engine, says so right on the side. But then, maybe it isn't a real tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Now, the diesel engines are another story. It's pretty clear that they are Kubota designed and manufactured. One of the many reasons I have a B2910.

The Bobcat S185 I have been using again this week has a 56hp turbo Kubota engine in it. It has some serious work power.

So much work power, and so many attachments, I wonder if they might be more useful than a CUT. It is amazing the implements they have. Even rotary mowers... A mid-sized Bobcat with a smooth bucket, tooth bucket, and a rotary mower could do anything most CUT's can do around my property. And, get this, they rent attachment, lots of them. I have not found anyone around here that rents 3pt attachments...

I used to volunteer fire fight. The new engine at the station had a mounted skid pump for wildland pump and roll operations. The skid pump had a Kubota engine.

Anyways, yes, Kubota makes some good engines...

I am not totally sure but I think Kubota also has some industrial turbines. I think they are used in some kind of portable desalination plant to run generators for electricity. I think I read about this but I maybe confused with some other company /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.
Yes, I would imagine the big Kubota turbo diesels do make serious power. I am also certain I have seen Kubota engines in GrassHopper mowers and you know it is not entirely impossible that one day John Deere could spec a Kubota engine. I for one am looking forward to that day. I think it would end the JD vs Kubota and anti Americanism type stuff. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Yep, Kubota powered JD CUTs, maybe they will even buy that portion of JD's buisness or form a partnership, even better. It could happen. J
