Hey guys.
I bought an older Kubota F2100 with a 72" deck for grass cutting duties this summer. I've always love the F Series since working for a landscaping company in my younger days. I got it off an old fella who treated it well and it's in decent shape.
Anyway, I have a few questions for any of you that might have some answers.
First, I was thinking of swapping the rear tires and wheels off of a newer model (F2560?) as they are a fair bit wider. I find the skinnier tires tend to carve into my sandy lawn a little too much and was hoping the wider tires might help mitigate this. Does anyone know if they are a compatible? What about overall circumference? Are these tires any taller and thus mess with my front/rear ratios while in 4WD?
Second, I was really hoping to use this machine to do the snow in my driveway at home. I'm finding that tracking down a reasonably priced blower is pretty difficult. Most Kubota blowers are fairly pricey and very few have the proper older style 2 point hitch setup for the f2100/2400. Does anyone have experience fabricating adapter mounts for newer blowers? How about adapting another (less expensive) front mount blower to work on one of these machines? My other problem with a blower is that my tractor doesn't have the front aux hydraulic outlet and would need to be added for chute rotation. The local dealer says that is $1000 ballpark which I don't want to get into. I have seen home done setups where guys just tapped in some lines and added a valve. I was thinking of electric or manual chute rotation.
If anyone can offer advice one any of these subjects it would be greatly appreciate.
