kubota fuel tank to small

/ kubota fuel tank to small #11
There is just no way that I would get a full eight hours on my Bx2350 without refueling, at least not blowing snow. I to wish that it would have a larger tank but where would they have put it?

The most annoying thing is the way that Kubota has done the fuel gage thingy, I mean that after a full fill up it seems to use no fuel according to the gage, but when the needle just hits the full mark, well after that it dives like an attacking submarine. I do so wish that it would be more accurate.

Could be worse, the fuel tank on several of our tractors is a stick; sometimes can't even find a good stick.

The guage still tells you when it is very low. Especially beats just running out , and quitting. My JD LM just starts sputtering and back firing, right before it stops. Jy

the fuel gauge on our 7700 quit working long ago.so we try to run it so long an then fuel up.because if it runs out its a pain to prime an crank.

The problem that you are referring to is hard to fix because if you look at the BX fuel tank it is crammed under the seat with a low point for the pickup and the fuel sender on the left side where the tank drops down. The BX tank stores most of the fuel way above the senders range of travel. Well the fuel sender is going to be a linear device because of the windings but as the tank gets down to the area it worksin it gets small for the last few inches of depth.

For the fuel tank size issue, most equipment has a fuel tank capacity to do the work for an average shift, you do need to shutdown and fuel and check oil levels afterall (at least you should).

Sure glad some of you people are not working construction jobs as some of these complaints will get you laughed of the job. Gee boss I don't like how this machine works can we get a new one? A sign of a good operator is one that can adapt and make a crappy machine looks as if it was functioning like a brand new one.

Oh I full well understand why it is the way that it is, all I said was that I wished that it would be more accurate.

Also I don't know how long shifts are anymore being retired an all but back in the day my shifts were eight hours and I know that a Bx2350 will not go eight hours on a tank working hard but that is just the nature of the beast. As I said were would they put a larger tank? As it is it works sort of and it's about the only beef that I have had with this tractor and it ain't a big one.

Growing up on a farm we also used the stick in tank method, it worked sort of. Cripes the first aircraft that I had, had a wire and a cork for a fuel gage, it also worked but I'm glad that my Piper Seneca is just a little more advanced.

I disagree. Attack submarines are never seen doing anything. :-]

Whenever I take my BX out on the town I bring an extra 5 gallons of fuel with me. The more fuel I have the more seat time I get before I have to return home.

My L3940's tank is 13 gallons, & I seem to use about 1 gallon per hour, maybe a little less.

right now its on light duty putting hay out,an loading hay if needed.i really like a tractor that goes 2 or 3 wks tween fill ups.

So you're getting 2 or 3 days now and the tank is how big, say 10 gallons? If so then you would need a 70 gallon tank to get 2 or 3 weeks. I all comes down to tank size vs size. Would you rather be able to see around and over the hood or would you want an extra 55 gallon drum mounted under it?

My 50 hp Kubota holds 40 L / 10 gal. I can get 4 hours out of tank snowblowing, so about one storm.

I hate lugging all the 5 gal jugs, want a barrel and pump, I burn about 250 gallons a year in the pair of tractors. My larger tractor holds over 30 gallons so its a real pain when its running full shifts for a few days.

I do agree on that. My L3400 is the same way. I can work it for about 3 hours before the needle even moves. Then by the time it is on E, I can only ever get 6 or so gallons in it even after operating it on E for another 2-3 hours. And it is supposed to have a 9 gallon tank
