Kubota GR2100 Transmission issues

Are the new ones, the GR2120 and the GR 2020 any better.
I am considering buying one- should I??gm

Not sure-they have improved the glide steer system-rods instead of cables. I really haven't seen threads on the gas versions of the GR series about transmission problems. I think the diesel motor is harder on the trannies. If you do buy one,get the extended warranty.

There have been two updates
-10 series changes from bushings to bearings in the trans.. which was the root cause of all the problems with the 00-series.
-20 series changes cables to rods on the glide steer. IMO, not that big of a deal if you know what your watching for.

nothing is perfect, but the later models are vastly better than the -00 series which have been plagued with issues.

X2 on the -00 series!! Took tractor back in last week. They determined it was a thrust washer and not sure why it broke in the new clutch pack. Still have not heard back from dealer. They are covering the costs under warranty.

Wonder if it was a remanufactured clutch pack!?!?

What I plan to do is see if I can get a another person to buy my kubota, then upgrade to a BX2370, I haven't heard any problems with the BX series, so I might go there. Besides if I am going to spend 3k on a POS why not get another tractor and enjoy that one.

The only major issue I've heard about the BX is the hydro cooling fan can be easily damaged and is a pain in the *** to remove and replace for the diy and expensive to have the dealer change it.
There are a few skid plate protection options out there, that may help protect the hydro fan.

I have a 2020. A little over two years old. It is an awesome piece of equipment. I have had zero issues with it.

I don't have any first hand knowledge about these BX hydro fans, but did find various threads on the subject when I was considering a BX series tractor. I was also considering the Kubota GR series but the previous transmission issues bothered me. I really wanted to get a Kubota because of the excellent service I have gotten from my B7800, Finally settled on the Husqvarna R3222T AWD units, for mostly mowing and a back-up snow blower unit.
Here are a few links of the more recent discusses about the BX hydro fan issue, there are other threads too, if you want to search for them.

Thanks, I share your good experience with my '04 B7800!
I too will do mostly mowing.
I am getting a rear mount snow blower for the B7800.
Thanks for the info, I will check it out!…gm

typically, things that should not happen.

Thats a good answer. You must be a lawyer for Kubota. How about the truth, it was made cheap and you got what you payed for.
