Thanks, I share your good experience with my '04 B7800!
I too will do mostly mowing.
I am getting a rear mount snow blower for the B7800.
Thanks for the info, I will check it out!?m

The Kubota B7800 RM snow blower with the front bucket loader are a great snow removal combination.
It also helps to have a cab.

Along with the previously mentioned mechanical concerns of the Kubota GR series and BX series tractors,
another reason I went with the Husqvarna R322T AWD, was because it's about half the cost of the Kubota GR series
and about one third the cost the Kubota BX series.
The R322T AWD is really great on hills and the front mount mower deck can be quickly changed to a service position for cleaning out grass clippings or changing blades. The articulating steering allows for very nimble steering around trees and other objects while mowing.
They have really worked out great.

Good luck in your search

What is happening to damage the hydro- fan??m

Nothing wrong with the hydro fan other than it is a bit exposed to getting broken by sticks if you run off-lawn with the deck off. The MMM will act as a skid plate when on, but when not, you really need a skid plate underneath to protect the fan, and the hydro filter too in my opinion. You could make your own, or there are a few aftermarket versions available - Bro-Tek and BXpanded both sell them. The BXs do now come with a small deflector underneath, but it's not really adequate protection. If the plastic fan blades break, it's a cheap part to buy, but labor intensive to replace since it mounts on the drive shaft.

CHD,
Thanks for the follow up, I do not plan to run it without the MMM, so I should be good!
It's being delivered on Friday and I am really looking forward to seeing how well the mulch attachment does.
I'll let everybody know how it does .....gm

Good luck on your new toy....... I guess I missed what you finally decided to get ...
Well, I hope it gives you the same great service your B7800 has given you.

Thanks,
With the $1500 rebate and the 60 month zero financing it was cheaper monthly to get the bigger unit.
Got a snow blower, mulching mower and the BX 1870, traded in a rake and a Bush hog Finishing mower 60". The net price is $207 per month, $12242.
I think that I will be happier and I have not heard much negative about it.
The GR has been a little rocky and while I am sure they have it fixed now, I will feel better about this choice. Gm

Got the new BX 1870 yesterday and I got a chance to mow for 2 hours today and it was a dream- great power, very maneuverable and the mulch attachment did great on my high damp lawn.
The wheel cut of the front suspension makes the tractor able to get into and out of spots that my 21 year old Cub 2182 could not do, also the ability to mow in reverse was helpful as well.
So much so; that I barely have push mow anything.
It is really nice to see the gains in tech since 1993!!……gm
