OK here痴 the status. I was able to get a reasonable picture of the connector as it was attached to a solenoid for sale on ebay from a salvage yard (just pure luck). I had a group of sketches for Toyota connectors and compared the pictures to the sketches and also engaged a Toyota parts technician to check parts in the bins against the picture. No Joy. I then started looking for other distributors of Japanese automotive connectors and came across a shop called Corsa-Technic who has a wonderful collection of pictures for every connector they sell. I was able to find the exact connector needed from the pictures of the connectors and the picture from the salvage yard and placed an order for it Wednesday morning. The manufacturer is Sumitomo (p/n 6189-0129 HW Sealed Series) and the cost of the connector with pins and wire seals is $3.36. I ordered 4 as well as the tools to make the repair. I called the dealer Tuesday and let them know that I had found and ordered the connector for the repair and would have it delivered to their shop. Once I had pictures of the connector from the salvage yard it took me less than 2 hours to identify the part and locate a supplier. It took another 12 to get a response from the supplier as I知 7 hours ahead or Central time in the US and Corsa-Technic doesn稚 post a phone number on their website so email exchange was the best I could do (they did post a phone number on their facebook page but I don稚 really facebook). The connectors are en route to the house and I have a UPS tracking number and projected delivery of Monday afternoon.
Corsa Technic, LLC Motorsport Interconnect Products, Motorcycle Connectors, Sensors is the website and the picture resource is outstanding.
The connector is at this link...

As far as the rental agreement goes, there is no max amount that I can be billed per the contract but it does say that parts will be charged at the manufacturers list price so their additional mark-up may be avoidable for me. As far as a reasonable repair charge, I would think ~$240 for the solenoid, $0 for the connector (since I知 providing that), and 1 hour of labor, $89, for replacing the solenoid and making up the connector. I知 not trying to get out of paying for the damages, I知 just trying to be billed fairly and not overcharged.
In the end I知 surprised that the bottom of this tractor is soft enough to allow damage from underneath and would have expected some form of skid plate or protection for exposed wiring. I知 also amazed at the difficulty experienced in getting what should be listed product information from manufacturer痴 parts documentation. Is it this difficult with John Deere or New Holland or Mahindra? As I look for my own tractor to purchase I certainly have a lot of questions about durability, protection and serviceability for the dealers.
The big lesson here is "don't sign a rental agreement without reading the fine print". The expectation that the dealer will be fair and reasonable in performing a repair is a big assumption that carries unacceptable risk. My observation is that if the dealer can make a profit repairing his own equipment then it's really just another revenue stream.
Thanks to everyone who jumped in on the post. Hopefully others can benefit from the experience.
MHarryE, I especially appreciate the time you took to review the diagram I attached to the post and compare it to your tractor, for passing on your experience about Cat and your concurrent search for a connector. When you posted earlier the Deutsch connector info, I looked at all the pictures I could find and came up with no match. It did however narrow down the choice for connector manufacturers so I had fewer places to look. Many thanks again.
