Kubota L5740

In your original post, you mentioned the BH92 backhoe. Not sure what you meant, but . . . In my opinion, these are NOT good tractors for backhoe work. No way to change the tractor setup/position and adjust without climbing off and then climbing on the tractor seat and then back to the backhoe seat . . . And the cab makes this even more inconvenient. I wouldn't be concerned with the backhoe options or let that be a consideration in my decision-making.

I agree but I got a bad wrist which does not let me shovel much anymore. Plus if we use it to blow snow, cab is the way to go. In fact, snow plowing is the only reason I want a cab.

I get it. Shovels suck even if you don't have a bad wrist.

I'm just saying that if you have a lot of backhoe work to do, you don't want to do it with a machine that makes you dismount and mount every time you need to change your setup. For the occasional hole that you need to dig, a backhoe and subframe would be a very handy expensive item to have around. As attachments/implements go, it's about the hardest thing you'll ever mount to your tractor and on this one you'll probably need to remove some of the 3-point hitch arms/parts too. It's not convenient.

I use a similar machine for snow. Cab is the only way to go. Personally, I have no use for a front snowblower because 90% of the snow we get I can handle with a snowplow blade on the front loader. I have a rear snowblower for the drifts that I can't handle with the plow. I would not want to lose my front plow capability because it's so much quicker to plow. What you need will depend on the type of snow you guys get. Either way, get a cab!!! Agree.

Just saying that for digging the occasional hole, I don't even think about using my L5740.

Hey,turf tires are pretty good for snow if you don't use/want chains.

Gee whiz, now a L5740 just showed up with cab, blower and more extra accessories for 47K with 700 hours and in the same town.View attachment 3512538
We are scheduled to see this L5740 machine Saturday morning. Spoke with the fellow who's selling it for the estate and he thinks its over priced.

I few better pics of the Kubota L5740 I took today. I looked for oil leaks and scratches from hitting things and found none. Kinda hard to believe this machine is about 15yo. Dearest says I need to be IN A CAB after looking at the property we need to clear.

I have a 2011 Grand L5740 I bought in 2014 with about 300 hours on it. It now has about 2600 hours on it.

I really like it. But, it's not without issues. I've had to change front wheel bearings I think 4 times now. Probably because I put too much weight on the loader.

I've also had to change the exhaust manifold gasket twice and it's out again now for the third time.

I've also had to rebuild the Air Conditioner on it.

Overall, I still like it, and I use it for my heavier work. I also have 2 Grand L6060's. We don't have snow here, so I don't know anything about that.

47k does seem a bit high for that tractor. I was recently offered 15k as a trade-in for mine, but it's not in nearly as good shape as the one you are looking at.

Here is a link to my thread on the front wheel bearing issue I've had. Front wheel bearings failed L5740
