I am in the final stages of selecting a new Kubota tractor.
I have choosen a L3710 HST with R4 tires and a LA682 Loader.
My question pertains to the bucket for the loader.
All the dealers in my area sell the LA682 Loader with the standard 66" bucket. Kubota's literature also list an optional
60" heavy-duty round back bucket. The dealers in my area have very little information on this heavy-duty bucket. All I have been able to find out about it is that it is 60 inches wide,
weight 308 Lbs. (Vs. 250 Lbs. for the standard bucket), and that this option cost $200 dollars.
I am wonder if anyone out there can give me more information about the heavy-duty bucket so I can make an informed decission.
Some of the questions I have Include:
Is there a difference in the gauge of steel used between these two buckets or is the weight difference solely in the reinforcing materials added?
Does this bucket have a bolt-on (Replaceable) front knife edge?
Will the standard duty bucket do everything this tractor/loader is capable of without being bent or broken?
Spending the extra $200 for the heavy-duty bucket is not an issue. I just hate to give up the capacity of the standard bucket (since the heavy-duty bucket is 6" shorter) if the standard duty bucket will do the job and stand the test of time.
The local dealers tell me they have never had a request for the heavy-duty bucket and have never had any problems with the standard bucket.
Thanks for any information anyone may have
P.S. The Kubota Dealers are all pricing the L3710 Tractor with the LA682 Loader. Kubota's literature list the loader as a LA681. Can anyone tell me if there are any differences in these different models.
